<p>Kinopaniikki-podcastin toisella tuotantokaudella on käsitelty elokuvantekijöitä, ohjaajien muotokuvien muodossa. Tässä kahdeksannessa jaksossa käydään läpi ehdottoman ristiriitaisen elokuvantekijän, kiistellyn ja kiitetyn Rauni Mollbergin (1929-2007) uraa. Elokuvan, teatterin kuin televisionkin saralla vaikuttanut Mollberg nousi taiteellisen ja kaupallisen suurmenestyksen kautta aina ensimmäiseksi elokuvataiteen akateemikoksi, mutta jonka ura lopulta noudatti nopean nousun ja hitaan tuhon kaavaa. Ihaillun ja vihatun Mollbergin estetiikka rakentui usein ruman ja rujon, kuluneen ja kärsivän, naturalistisen ja inhorealistisen välimaastoon.</p>

Seitsemäs jakso käsittelee John Landisia, joka luovimmalla kaudellaan loi elokuvia, jotka risteilivät usein komediallisesti genrestä toiseen, viihdyttivät ihmeentunnun kautta ja sisälsivät sisäpiirimäisiä elokuva- ja elokuvantekijäviittauksia. Landis ei ole enää 2000-luvulla ollut juurikaan relevantti tai uutta luova tekijä, mutta 1970-luvun lopulta aina 1990-luvun alkuun hän osui kultasuoneen toistuvasti ja sai aikaan ikimuistoista viihdettä.</p>
