Making a Positive Impact Through Eye Care: An Inspiring Conversation with Ophthalmologist Dr. Elie Abbey from Togo
Join us for Episode 6! of Koffee with Kofi (https://www.linkedin.com/company/koffee-with-kofi/)
Featuring a special guest, Dr. Elie ABBEY, MD (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ACoAAByIbQ4BZLzRfXj_CrdZAnBiyKfq00SHcKU), an Ophthalmologist and eye surgeon from Togo.
In this episode, Dr. Abbey shares how he combines his belief in putting people first with his profession to make a positive impact on people's lives through eye surgery. Elie is moving mountains and making a humongous impact in my birth country.
His commitment to improving others’ life is admirable and so inspiring.
Elie and I met during our college years in my birth country Togo while pursuing different fields of study- he was studying Medicine, and I was studying Civil Engineering. Despite this, we formed a strong bond and our friendship has only grown stronger over the years into an unwavering brotherhood on a mission to be a force for good.
We have always shared our aspirations to make a positive impact in the world, and it brings me great joy to see Elie doing just that! It makes my soul happy to see him making a difference in people's lives.
So, sit back, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and put on your favorite headphones to tune in to this inspiring conversation. ☕️✨ 𝐬𝐢𝐩 𝐬𝐢𝐩 𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐲!🎉

Overcoming Cultural Shock - With Capt. Tetevi Torsoo (US ARMY)
𝐒𝐢𝐩 𝐬𝐢𝐩 𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐲! fam!
I'm thrilled to announce that Episode Two of Koffee with Kofi is live and ready for your listening pleasure.
In this episode, I had the privilege of speaking with Captain Tetevi Torsoo of the US Army, who shares his incredible journey of cultural adaptation and overcoming.
Captain Torsoo immigrated to the US and faced some major cultural shocks that he could never have imagined.
In this clip, he talks about how looking an elder in the eyes in his home country would be considered disrespectful, while in the US culture,
not doing so is perceived as a sign of disrespect and carelessness.
It's just one example of the kinds of challenges that he faced and the insights he gained during his journey.
I don't want to give too much away, but this episode contains eye-opening stories and lessons learned.
It's a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of being open to new perspectives and experiences.
So, grab a cup of koffee or tea and give Episode Two of Koffee with Kofi a listen.
You won't be disappointed.
And, if you like what you hear, be sure to subscribe and
leave me a review - it helps me reach more people and share these amazing stories of overcoming.
