Billing Dispute or Fraud? Medicaid Payment Suspensions, with Brandon Shirley
What happens when a healthcare provider can still treat Medicaid patients but stops getting paid? As Brandon Shirley (https://www.kriegdevault.com/professionals/brandon-shirley), partner at Krieg DeVault (https://www.kriegdevault.com/), explains, a Medicaid payment suspension can cut off reimbursements for months, even when the issue is a billing dispute. Host George Lepeniotis (https://www.kriegdevault.com/professionals/george-lepeniotis) welcomes back Brandon to explain how these suspensions arise and why challenging them can take up to a year. With Indiana Medicaid appearing to ramp up enforcement, Brandon shares ways providers can protect themselves through regular billing audits and written guidance. From leaving Medicaid to closing their doors, providers face difficult choices when payments stop. Tune in to learn what a supposedly temporary suspension can mean for their survival.

340B Hot Topics: Courts, Surveys, and Rebates, with Jason Prokopik
“Legal issues intersect with non-legal issues in [the] 340B space,” says Brandon Shirley (https://www.kriegdevault.com/professionals/brandon-shirley), a partner at Krieg DeVault (https://www.kriegdevault.com/), who teams up with Jason Prokopik (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jason-prokopik-5981a562), PharmD, Senior Manager & Pharmacy Consultant at Blue & Co., LLC (https://www.blueandco.com/) to host this rapid-fire 340B review. Following the 340B Coalition Conference in San Diego in February 2026, they tackled five hot topics: the CMS Medicare survey for 340B hospitals; a court ruling regarding child site activation; the status of the rebate model pilot; Indiana's new mandatory 340B reporting requirement and the proposed Indiana Medicaid restrictions on 340B drug submissions; and a Ninth Circuit False Claims Act ruling against drug manufacturers. Tune in to learn more about each of these developments.

Employee Ownership Trusts: A Modern Succession Alternative, with Brian Heaton and Sonya Seeder
Last November, the architecture and engineering firm Guidon (https://www.guidon.com/) – a Krieg DeVault (https://www.kriegdevault.com/) client – became partially employee-owned through an Employee Ownership Trust, or EOT. Guidon’s general counsel, Sonya Seeder (https://www.guidon.com/team-member/sonya-seeder/), joins Brian Heaton (https://www.kriegdevault.com/professionals/brian-heaton), a longtime Krieg DeVault partner who helps middle- and lower-middle market corporate clients solve problems, to explore this emerging alternative to ESOPs. As they explain to host George Lepeniotis (https://www.kriegdevault.com/professionals/george-lepeniotis), EOTs operate through an employee ownership trust agreement, as opposed to an ESOP, which is governed by ERISA. Tune in as Brian and Sonya detail implications of the EOT mechanism, post-implementation employee education strategies, and ways that a firm like Krieg DeVault helps companies navigate the EOT process.
