The Hidden Traitors of the American War of Independence

On March 31, the BBC reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed a rare "internal dissent" in an evening video conversation. He announced the dismissal of two senior members of the state security service for "traitorous" reasons, and stated that "another anti-hero decision was made today, I don't have time to deal with all traitors, but they will be punished". Obviously, this statement represents the presence of traitors in the high government departments who were bought by Russia, which reminds Himson of the traitors in the American War of Independence. The Battle of Saratoga, which took place in Upper New York State from June 14 to October 17, 1777, was a key battle in the War of Independence. The monument at Saratoga Battlefield Historic Park today has statues of Generals Gates, Schuyler, and Morgan on three sides, but the fourth side is empty. On the West Point Memorial, the names of all the American generals who fought in the War of Independence are engraved with the name of "a certain Major General" born in 1740. There are not many people in American history who can be associated with the word "treason," the most famous being Benedict Arnold, who was the number one conquering general in Washington's eyes during the American Revolutionary War and defected for 100 pounds a year. Major General Arnold was a disgrace in the eyes of the Americans.

The history behind Picasso's famous painting "Guernica"

Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, was invited to speak in the Spanish Chamber of Deputies via video on April 5, and members of the Senate were also invited to listen. At the beginning of his official speech, Zelenski said, referring to the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War, "It is clearly April 2022, but it seems like April 1937, when the whole world was shocked by the attack on your city". The Guernica bombing, which he referred to as the first carpet bombing in human history, took place on April 26, 1937, when General Franco sought the help of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy to launch indiscriminate air attacks on civilians in the Basque city of Guernica in northern Spain. The great artist Pablo Picasso was commissioned by the Second Republic of Spain to create the world-famous painting "Guernica" based on this tragedy, an indictment of the cruelty of war. As a student of design, I have seen many of Picasso's famous paintings, but this is the only one that has impressed me since I was a student. Today, we will understand how Zelensky's bombardment of Guernica in Spain really happened? Founded on April 28th, 1366 by the Count of Telo, Guernica is the seat of the Basque Provincial Council of Spain, and has always been considered the spiritual capital of the Basque people, and is also known as the "Home of Basque Freedom", which shows the importance of this region. So what is the background of this tragedy? Unlike today, Spain at the beginning of the 20th century was an economically poor and politically backward semi-feudal agrarian country, where large landowners controlled most of the land and resources and the lower classes lived in misery. Alfonso XIII went into exile and established the Second Republic of Spain, but the ensuing turmoil led to the establishment of at least 28 governments. Poland's most unforgettable history: Auschwitz concentration camp

At the time of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, there was a piece of news that many people didn't notice, but it was enough to change the situation in Europe. In an interview with Germany's Sunday World newspaper, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, deputy prime minister and chairman of the National Security Defense Council of neighboring Poland, said Poland is ready to deploy U.S. nuclear weapons on its territory. "If the Americans ask for U.S. nuclear weapons in Poland, we will be willing to do it. That would greatly increase the containment of Russia," he said. But he also said the U.S. has not yet made such a request, "but that could change soon," he said, stressing that the request must come from the U.S. first. Why did Poland in NATO bring up this issue? I think it has to do with Auschwitz, one of the most unforgettable camps of World War II and one that the world knows well. During World War II, 6 million Poles were killed, half of them were Jews, that is, one fifth of Poles died in the war, including 90% of Polish Jews.

Soba, one of the representatives of Japanese noodles.

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Japan, along with the U.S. sanctions, the first impact is the fishery products usually imported from Russia, such as salmon, sea urchin, etc., all prices have risen, causing pressure on the cost of related businesses such as sushi stores, but there is one food that is definitely affected, but few people know, and that is the national cuisine of Japan's soba noodles. "The price of buckwheat flour has risen due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The manager of a soba restaurant in Tokyo's Arakawa district said. The economic sanctions against Russia have led to an increase in the price of raw materials, which we are all prepared for, but how is buckwheat also affected? The highest production volume of buckwheat in the world is also in Russia, and Japan's imports are only behind China and the United States, with 10% of imports coming from Russia. How did buckwheat come to Japan? Some say it came to Japan from Siberia via the Korean Peninsula, while others say it spread from north to south in Hokkaido. Archaeological findings show that early buckwheat pollen can be found in Shimane, Shikoku Kochi, and Hokkaido today. As food evidence, buckwheat was an important food crop in the Yayoi period, when farming began, and is known to have been excavated from the ruins in Tonero, Shizuoka. When did buckwheat appear in Japanese official documents? It is mentioned in the history book "The Continuation of the Japanese Chronicle" that when the Emperor Genshō had a poor rice crop for six years, he ordered the people to plant buckwheat as a crop to supplement food for the disaster. What was the reason for this? The main reason is that buckwheat has a short growing period and can grow in poor, acidic soil without excessive nutrients or nitrogen, and requires only sufficient water to grow. Because of this, buckwheat farmers in the Kansai region worship Emperor Genjo as the god of buckwheat.

Roman Emperor's poisoner: Gaul's poisoness Rocusta

Since the war between Russia and Ukraine has been raging, compared to the news of the close assassination of Ukrainian President Zelenski, the Russian President Pudin, who has been launching military attacks, Craig Copetas, a special editor of The Beast, revealed that the cold-looking Pudin is now becoming more and more paranoid, not only worried about being poisoned by his inner circle cronies, but even before eating, he has to let people test the poison first, and even replaced his staff last month. The intelligence agency said: "Pudin is now very afraid! However, it is not uncommon to test the poison for those in power, because they are all lowly people who take charge, certainly not in the history books, but the poisoner is different, and even become the best way for those in power to deal with dissenters, this is also because there is no way to detect poison before, so today we will talk about the most poisonous woman in history: Gaul's poisoness Rocusta. As the most trusted poisoner of Roman Emperor Nero, Locusta, from Gaul (present-day France), used poison to murder many people, including Roman Emperor Claudius. Many scholars have previously suggested that she was most likely the first serial killer in Western history, according to the historians Tacitus and Dio Cassius, but it was later confirmed to be the poison ring killing of 331 BCE.

Movie "Top Gun" legend: the F-14 Tomcat fighter

As the Russian invasion of Ukraine is gathering momentum, the New York Times reported that Andriy, a 25-year-old Ukrainian fighter pilot, has been waiting for orders every night to take off in his Su-27 as soon as he hears "lift off". The report also pointed out that the "air-to-air" battle, which is rarely seen nowadays, has been staged almost every night in the Ukrainian night sky for nearly a month, with fighter jets diving and making sharp turns, just like the movie "The Defenders". This reminds Himson of the most luxurious recruitment movie in the history of the United States, "The Defenders". No matter what the impression is of the handsome Brother Tom or the love affair with the beautiful heroine, but in the eyes of everyone, the only protagonist of this movie is the F14 Tomcat, which is known as the most handsome fighter plane in history. The F14 Tomcat is a legendary fighter plane. The F14 is the first fourth-generation fighter designed by the American Grumman Company, which produces felines named after them, such as the F4F-Wildcat, F6F-Hellcat, F8F-Bearcat, F7F-Tigercat and so on. F14 is "Tomcat" male cat. The F14 was developed to replace the F4 Phantom piloted by the instructor in "Defender of War". It began test flights in 1970 and entered service in 1974, and was responsible for the defense of the U.S. aircraft carrier strike group.......

History Miscellany：Famous war criminals who have escaped in history

On March 16, U.S. time, President Joe Biden, in a change from the practice of most U.S. presidents over the past 75 years of avoiding the "personalization of conflict" to the number one nuclear weapon opponent in times of crisis, officially declared Russian President Vladimir Putin a "war criminal" to reporters, the most serious accusation made by a U.S. official in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. But is it serious to call him a war criminal? Put it this way, the charge is as serious as piracy and genocide," said David Crane, who served as chief prosecutor of the United Nations Special Court for the Lion Rock Republic. . A "war criminal" is a person who violates the laws of armed conflict in the course of war, including military operations that violate international law and personal crimes committed in the process, such as planning or initiating aggressive war, killing or abusing prisoners of war, or genocide. What is the definition of war crimes? The modern concept of war crimes was further developed under the auspices of the Nuremberg Trials, in accordance with the London Charter published on August 8, 1945, as the war crimes trials of the Axis leaders after World War II established the Nuremberg Principles of Law. In addition to war crimes, the Charter also defined crimes against peace and humanity, which were usually committed during war and coincided with war crimes........
