We have all had moments when an elder or mentor drops some knowledge, “A Gem”, that stays with you throughout your journey. I’m setting out to collect as many of those gems and share them with the world. Through music, food, entertainment, education, traditions, laughter, business, love and so much more! We will find and treasure our black gems.
My brothers are back, Kinship. Buddy and Mike join me in this amazing conversation on how we can elevate our being in finance, business, community, investing and so much more. Have your pen and paper ready! Original poem by me Kenya Hoover, “My Being” with music by Kinship. This is our final episode for Season 1 “School is in Session”.

Education Assimilation Revelation
This episode we will discuss how we can feed our mind through our education. Education in the black/minority community has gaps. The institution of Education is a form of assimilation which is the most extreme form of acculturation. We have an opportunity to go beyond what is presented so we have revelation that will influence our tomorrow. I have my Aunt Alma Phifer join me in this amazing conversation so we can discuss ways we can feed our minds. She shares several must haves for our library: 1. “Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and It’s Urgent Lessons for Our Own” by Eddie Glaude Jr (audible) 2. The Warmth of Our Suns” by Isabel Wilkerson (audible) 3. “The Soul of America” by Jon Meacham (audible) 4. “His Truth Is Marching On John Lewis and the Power of Hope” by Jon Meacham (audible) 5. “We Are Called to Be a Movement” by William Barber II (Amazon.com) 6. “The Vanishing” by Brit Bennett (audible)
