Johan Throne Holst klinte til og bestilte 12 paneler til sjokoladefabrikken sin Freia på begynnelsen av 1920-tallet. Nå vises den såkalte “Freia-frisen” på Munch-museet. Milliardærene digger Kai Fjell
Den norske modernisten Kai Fjell gikk fra fattiglus til krøsus over natten med en salgssuksess på Kunstnernes Hus i 1937. Han rakk ofte ikke å male ferdig bildene sine før kjøperne kom og hentet dem.
