Kamala was born in Jamaica and raised in New York before moving to L.A.. Kamala Avila-Salmon is a founder and CEO of Kas Kas Productions, a film and TV company creating inclusive, impactful, and commercially successful content. She was also the head of Inclusive Content at Lionsgate, where she led strategies that doubled the number of underrepresented directors across the studio slate.
Kamala also has worked across music, film, TV and streaming marketing. She has helped creators from Janelle Monae to Jada Pinkett Smith and is currently working on projects with talent like John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Tracy Stevens, and more!
