Los conflictos de los Grandes Lagos
La región de los Grandes Lagos, en el interior de África, ha sido el escenario de algunos de los conflictos más devastadores de la historia de la humanidad. Entre ellos destacan el genocidio de Ruanda y las guerras del Congo. La guerra afgano soviética y la respuesta global
Recientemente se ha hablado mucho de Afganistán. Lo que ocurre ahora en el país se debe en gran parte a lo que sucedió durante la guerra afgano soviética. Veremos los antecedentes del conflicto, la manera en que los soviéticos invadieron y cuál fue la respuesta de los afganos y de la comunidad internacional, en especial la de Pakistán y Estados Unidos. La crisis del Congo, 1960
La República Democrática del Congo es un país diverso y rico en recursos naturales, pero también es conocido por la pobreza y la violencia que padece. En este episodio veremos cómo los intereses de potencias extranjeras y las fronteras artificiales contribuyeron a determinar el triste camino que los congoleses han seguido en 71 años de vida independiente, y las disputas que tuvieron lugar en su territorio cuando Bélgica dejó de gobernarlo.
