La Prensa is the region’s oldest and largest weekly, bilingual Latinx newspaper, and we are proud to collaborate with WGTE to present La Prensa HABLA! Derived from the word “hablar,” meaning “to talk,” the program will use the power of the spoken word to cover topics relevant to our Latinx culture. We present local, national and international news, discuss the state of agricultural workers, document life at the U.S. northern border and spotlight Latinx academics, authors, community leaders and experts. In addition, we present cultural cooking demonstrations and teach a Spanish word of the week.
Dr. Paat and medical student Atheer Amer share the work they’re doing through the Community Care Clinic. We talk about access to care, the realities of Latino health, and how compassion, culture, and service come together to meet people where they are both locally in Toledo and through medical missions across the world.
