Saya membacakan salah satu puisi dari penyair Palestina: Salma Al-Jayyusi. Beliau penyair kelahiran tahun 1926, masih hidup (episode ini direkam tahun 2021) dan sempat mengajar di berbagai universitas di negara-negara Arab, Afrika, dan bahkan Amerika Serikat. Puisi yang saya bacakan ini merupakan terjemah dari terjemah bahasa Inggris (puisi aslinya tentu berbahasa Arab) oleh Hartojo Andangdjaja.

Entah naskah drama atau novel, karya ini menurut saya sangat sarat nilai ketauhidan. Pak Ajip dengan berani mengeksplorasi sisi kemanusiaan di balik ketegaran Masyitoh dan anak-anaknya yang dihukum mati oleh firaun dengab cara direbus di dalam bejana berisi timah panas.
