Welcome to the Lager Layover podcast! This show is dedicated to travelers like me who have to visit some of America's great cities, love craft beer, and want to explore local culture, if only for a little bit.
On this show, we will sit down with brewers across the nation to learn a little more about them, their city, and what makes all of that special. Join us each week on the podcasting app of your choice!
PHX Beer Co. is a multi-location brewing powerhouse in Arizona's capital city of Phoenix. On top of having a killer lineup at their downtown tap room and production brewery, they also boast a solid distribution network and brewpub concepts in Phoenix and Scottsdale.
We spoke to Brewery Director Adam Wojcik nto long after their grand opening in late 2019, well before COVID-19 hit. In this, interview, you'll learn a bit more about the brewery, who they are and what they're brewing, and the questions I had when the building was home to the Phoenix Ale Works.

Ep. 6 - Dark Sky Brewing, Flagstaff, AZ
Welcome to Arizona!
Lager Layover enters its next state with a trip to the city of Flagstaff, AZ, happily situated along Route 66. Dark Sky is one of many breweries in the city, but is one of the absolute best with a wide variety of inventive beers.
We sit and chat with Co-Owner and Brewer Bryan Sandlin, along with bartenders Alex Dangerfield and Miguel Guzman (also their Social Media Manager) about the state of Arizona beers, how cold it gets in Flagstaff, and that ultra cool countertop of theirs.

Ep. 5 - Calibration Brewery, Kansas City, MO.
We are back with our final episode from Kansas City!
North Kansas City, to be exact. A little place carving out an awesome niche of nightlife, restaurants, and breweries in a formerly industrial-only section of town. One of those breweries is Calibration Brewery, and in Nov. 2019 we sat down with Dr. Laers Malburg, scientists and Calibration's brewmaster.
Listen to our conversation about their beers, his background brewing in college, and the explosive growth of the Kansas City beer scene.
