Lampstands is a Calvary Chapel church planting podcast. In each episode, Mike Focht interviews a church planter to learn how they came to know God, how God led them into a place of service in ministry, and how God called and used them to plant a church. The goal is to encourage ministry workers and prospective church planters with their testimonies of childlike faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to guide, provide, and harvest spiritual fruit through the faithful preaching of God’s Word.
From a life marked by addiction, violence, and hopelessness to planting a church in South America, Cory Kilgus shares his remarkable testimony of God's transforming grace. In this episode of Lampstands, Cory recounts his radical conversion at age 23, how the Lord drew him from a destructive lifestyle into a deep love for God's Word, and the unexpected journey that led him from Fort Bragg, California, to the mission field in Peru.
Cory opens up about the importance of discipleship, serving faithfully in the local church, learning patience in God's calling, and the lessons he learned while preparing for ministry. He also shares the story behind planting Calvary Chapel Trujillo and his passion for bringing verse-by-verse Bible teaching to South America.

Bob Pecoraro | Calvary Chapel Turku, Finland
In this episode of Lampstands, we sit down with Bob Pecoraro of Calvary Chapel Turku, Finland, to hear the story of how God took a young man from upstate New York and led him into decades of ministry in one of the least-reached regions of Europe. Bob shares his testimony of coming to faith, the influence of his mother's conversion, and the journey that eventually brought him to Finland alongside his wife.
From an apartment Bible study to planting a church in Turku, Bob reflects on the challenges, surprises, and joys of long-term ministry. He discusses learning to trust God's direction, reaching people in a highly secular culture, and the importance of faithfully teaching God's Word regardless of the size of the crowd.
