العراق: نحو 25 مليون لغم ومخلّف حربي تهدد حياة السكان
لا يزال العراق يواجه أزمة الألغام ومخلّفات الحروب المتعاقبة التي شهدتها البلاد خلال العقود الماضية، والتي تنتشر على مساحات واسعة من أراضيه. وتشير التقارير إلى وجود نحو 25 مليون لغم ومخلّف حربي لا تزال تشكّل تهديداً يومياً للسكان، فضلاً عن الخسائر الاقتصادية الناجمة عن تعذّر استثمار الأراضي غير المطهّرة. كما تفيد التقديرات بأن البلاد تحتاج إلى أكثر من عشر سنوات لتطهير جميع المناطق الملوّثة بالمواد القابلة للانفجار.

معبر "الكرامة": حين يتحول سفر الفلسطينيين إلى رحلة عذاب
يُسمّى في الجانب الفلسطيني "معبر الكرامة"، وفي الجانب الأردني "جسر الملك حسين"، أما في الجانب الإسرائيلي "معبر اللنبي"، وهو المنفذ الوحيد الذي يتيح للفلسطينيين السفر عبر الأردن نحو العالم. يقع المعبر على الحدود الفلسطينية–الأردنية، وتسيطر إسرائيل على إدارته وتنظيم حركة المسافرين عبره. ولطالما شكّل هذا المعبر نقطة معاناة لملايين الفلسطينيين وذلك بسبب تعدد نقاط التفتيش، والاكتظاظ الشديد، وساعات الانتظار الطويلة التي قد تمتد إلى أيام بجانب الإغلاقات المفاجئة والمتكررة. وتتواصل شكاوى الفلسطينيين ونداءاتهم لتحسين ظروف السفر التي كثيراً ما توصف بأنها أقرب إلى العذاب والإذلال منها إلى التنقل الطبيعي.
