EP 009 | RACHEL SMALL
For this first episode, I wanted to have a conversation that could hold some of the contradictions of motherhood the beauty, the exhaustion, the identity shifts, and the stories we can so easily get caught inside. I sat down with Rach Small to talk about motherhood, victimhood, and the cultural narratives that surround women once they become mothers. We explored that familiar space between “this is really hard” and “I don’t want hardship to become my identity.” We also wandered into the very modern rituals of coffee and wine culture the jokes, the memes, the social permission to use them as little rewards for surviving the day and what sits underneath that. Because alongside the messiness, there is something extraordinary about having children. A gift that can be difficult to articulate when you’re deep in the daily grind. This conversation isn’t about romanticising motherhood or pretending it’s easy. It’s about holding both truths: motherhood can be incredibly challenging, and it can also be an enormous gift. A conversation about responsibility, perspective, identity, and the stories we tellourselves with plenty of honesty along the way. Listen in with Rach Small. EP 009 | AMBER B
Amber B on Traditional Motherhood, Marriage & Going Back to Basics What if the things we’ve been made to question are the very things that bring us back to what matters most? For Episode Nine, I’m joined by the lovely Amber B for a conversation about all things traditional motherhood, marriage, lifestyle, and the increasingly controversial idea of embracing a more traditional way of living in the modern world. We’re talking about motherhood, the beauty of family life, the role of marriage, and the everyday choices that shape the way we live. In a world that often encourages us to do more, be more, and constantly strive for the next thing, what does it look like to slow down, embrace simplicity, and find contentment in the things that have always mattered? Somehow, wanting a traditional family life, prioritising your marriage, creating a beautiful home, and embracing the rhythms of motherhood have become topics that invite debate. But why? When did the simple desire to build a life centred around family, love, and home become something that needs defending? This conversation isn’t about saying there is only one way to live, or that every woman needs to follow the same path. It’s about making space for a different perspective one that values the home, celebrates motherhood, honours marriage, and recognises that there can be something deeply fulfilling about returning to the basics. Because perhaps it isn’t about going backwards at all. Perhaps it’s about remembering what we were moving towards in the first place. In this episode, Amber and I unpack what traditional living means to us, why it can feel so countercultural today, and why there is something so grounding about choosing a lifestyle that reflects your own values rather than simply following the expectations of the world around you. If you’ve ever felt drawn to a slower, more intentional life… if you believe that motherhood is something to be cherished, marriage is worth investing in, and the home is something worth nurturing… or if you’ve ever wondered why these things have become so controversial, this conversation is for you. Episode Nine is out now. Make yourself a coffee, get comfortable, and join us for a conversation about tradition, family, femininity, and the beauty of going back to basics. I hope you love this one as much as I loved recording it. 🤍 Listen now to Episode Nine with Amber B. #TraditionalMotherhood #Marriage #SlowLiving #TraditionalLifestyle #Motherhood Get full access to theholisticmother&mentor at lettersfromthemiddleofit.substack.com/subscribe (https://lettersfromthemiddleofit.substack.com/subscribe?utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=CTA_4)

EP 007 | KATHRYN GRACE
Landline Opinions with Kathryn Grace Some people enter your world and the conversation just flows. Kathryn Grace and I first crossed paths after we both joined a financial sovereignty course. We followed each other on social media, started chatting… and quickly realised we were both Projectors, deeply curious humans, and apparently incapable of having a surface-level conversation. 😂 Every conversation felt fulfilling, nourishing, life-giving and deep so naturally, we had to put a microphone in front of it. KG is an IFS & Parts Work Therapist, and we talked about what brought her into this work, the similarities and differences between our modalities, and our shared love of polarity, nuance and the places where two seemingly opposite things can both be true. We also went deep into anger what sits underneath it, what it can be communicating, and some of what KG has been moving through since our own Aaruka session together. And honestly… this conversation was exactly why I created Landline Opinions. Two women being curious about each other, following the conversation wherever it wants to go, and allowing ourselves to explore the whole human rather than trying to package it neatly. We already know this won’t be our last conversation. There may even be a Projector retreat in our future. 😂 For now, press play and come sit in the conversation with us. 🖤 Listen now on Substack, Spotify, Apple Podcasts & YouTube. EP 006 | HAYLEY CURTIS | GENE KEYS
Landline Opinions with Hayley Curtis Some conversations leave you curious about a world you haven’t stepped into yet. This was one of those conversations. In this episode, I sat down with Hayley Curtis to explore the Gene Keys how they first found their way into her world, the impact they’ve had on her life, and how something that began as part of her own journey has now become the work she shares with others. We spoke about the journey that brought her here, the shifts and discoveries along the way, and what it looks like when something resonates so deeply that it becomes more than an interest it becomes your life’s work. I also shared just how excited I am to begin exploring my own Gene Keys journey with Hayley sometime soon. It’s one of those things that has been sitting in my field, quietly calling my curiosity, and this conversation only made me more intrigued. Because that’s what I love about these conversations: getting to sit with someone who has walked a path, hear what it has opened up for them, and get curious about what might be waiting on the other side of our own exploration. A conversation about discovery, devotion, self-understanding and finding the work that feels like yours to share. Come sit with us. 🖤 Listen to Landline Opinions on Substack, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube. Emma Goodfellow EP 005
Landline Opinions with Emma Goodfellow This conversation with Emma Goodfellow felt like sitting down with someone who understands the complexity of being a whole human. Emma is a holistic mother and mentor and the founder of EG Holistic Psychology in Fremantle, and we spoke about psychology, business, motherhood and the seasons where the shape of your work has to change to meet the shape of your life. We talked about stepping away from the bricks-and-mortar business while continuing to hold her team, choosing a more family-centric way of doing business through the early years of motherhood, and what it feels like to slowly find her way back into mentoring without rushing to define exactly what it will become. We also got into polarity, being multifaceted humans, and the freedom that comes when we stop trying to fit ourselves into one box. And, of course, we talked about HELD the group container we’re creating together and the women we’re hoping to bring into that room. A conversation about business, identity, motherhood, evolution and allowing yourself to become something new without needing to have the whole thing figured out first. Jessica Ella EP 004
A Conversation with Jessica Ella founder of Aaruka Therapy & Certification Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussion of sexual abuse, physical abuse, family abuse, trauma, and the lasting impact of childhood and relational trauma. Please listen with care and give yourself permission to pause if needed. Some conversations stay with you long after the microphone is turned off. My most recent conversation with Jessica Ella was one of those. Jessica has been my mentor throughout my most recent certification with Aaruka Therapy, where I trained to become a trauma therapist. But our conversation went far beyond the classroom, the certification, or the professional work we are both committed to doing. We went deep into the places that shaped us. We spoke openly about our separate experiences of trauma the abuse, the pain, the family dynamics, the things that happened to us and the things we had to learn to carry afterward. We talked about what it means to live through experiences that can change the way you see yourself, other people, safety, love, and the world around you. And we talked about what happens when you begin to heal. Not because the past suddenly disappears. Not because becoming a therapist means you have somehow “figured it all out.” But because there can come a point where you look back at the road you’ve travelled and realize that the very experiences that once broke parts of you can become part of the reason you are able to sit beside someone else in their darkness. That is where the idea of turning pain into purpose came into our conversation. For both of us, doing this work isn’t simply about surviving what happened to us. It’s about asking what we can do with what we’ve learned. How can we take the parts of our stories that once felt unbearable and use them to help someone else feel less alone? How can we sit with people in the darkest chapters of their lives without asking them to rush toward the light? And perhaps most importantly: How do we show someone what it actually looks like to get out? Because sometimes we talk about healing as though the goal is simply to walk through the darkness and eventually reach the light. But what if we turn around? What if, once we’ve found our way out, we go back to the edge of that darkness not to relive it, and not to rescue anyone but to hold up a light and say: “I know it feels impossible from where you’re standing. I know you can’t see the way out yet. But there is a path. And I’ll show you what it can look like.” That is the work. Not just walking through the dark. Turning around and showing people the path to get out. This conversation with Jess is vulnerable, raw, and deeply personal. It is also a conversation about hope the kind of hope that doesn’t deny what happened, minimize the pain, or pretend that healing is linear. It is about what can become possible when we begin to understand our stories, reclaim our lives, and eventually use what we’ve learned to help illuminate the way for someone else. I am incredibly grateful to Jess for her mentorship, for the work she does, and for the willingness to have this conversation with me. And I’m grateful for the reminder that our stories don’t have to end where our suffering began. Sometimes, the path through our own healing becomes the path we can illuminate for someone else. This is a conversation about trauma. But ultimately, it is a conversation about what can exist on the other side of it: purpose, connection, healing, and light. I hope you’ll listen with compassion for Jess, for me, and perhaps most importantly, for whatever parts of your own story you may still be learning how to hold. Episode 2 is here and this one is with Ash Bravery. We went deep on the things that don’t always have neat answers: identity, ambition, uncertainty, the choices we make, and the grey areas that sit somewhere between who we think we are and who we’re becoming. Ash brings a really interesting perspective to the conversation, and as always, this isn’t about finding the answer. It’s about asking better questions, staying curious, and being willing to sit in the nuance. Landline Opinions The No Niche, Nuanced Podcast Episode 2, with Ash Bravery. Have a listen.
