Modern technology encourages us to do rather than to be. Even when queuing up at the supermarket, we answer emails. And while waiting for a taxi, we check the news or mindlessly scroll through Instagram. When was the last time you paused in the midst of doing something important? And what did you notice when you paused? Did you feel relief and peaceful? Or, was it the uncomfortable feeling of being alone, cast adrift with nothing to do?

Why Words Matter
It’s a New Year and with that often comes a frenzy of crafting a process to figure out your “Word for the Year”. Maybe you have yours all figured out by now and are off and running into all your carefully-laid goals and plans for the year. Well, I’m not there yet! And I’ve decided that is OK too.
In light of this annual focus on words, I thought I’d share my thoughts on why words can be so powerful in crafting a life you want.
