Civil Marriage Shame, Grieving Spouse Shame and Young Woman's Chastity Shame

SHOW NOTES: In our first three episodes, I spoke about my experiences of being shamed in the Mormon church. I also shared some experiences from people who submitted their own stories. In this episode, I'm only sharing some of the shame story submissions I have received and have been given permission to speak about. Of course, I will reveal no identities. I'm going to give a content and a trigger warning here for graphic sexual content and very inappropriate questions from older men to young women. Shaming an LGBTQ Relative and Your Stories

SHOW NOTES: Hello everyone I'm James Hofheins here as your host. Major is co-host. Welcome to Latter Day shamed podcast. In the first two episodes, I spoke about my experiences of being shamed in the Mormon church. Today, I'm going to take a little different approach to shame and tell you how I was involved in shaming somebody very close to me. My brother. Then I'm going to be sharing some of the shame submissions I have received and have been given permission to speak about. All but one of these will be anonymous. That one story that won't be anonymous is from somebody who asked that I use their name. Episode 2 went longer than I had planned so I just want to get into these stories and keep this episode a little shorter. I hope! *** Hey Superheroes! If you tuned in and listened to this episode, thank you very much. I really appreciate it. If you find value in this content, may I ask you to please like and share and comment? Also, I would also invite you to donate to the podcast. My venmo and my cash app links are below, JWHSLC for both. And finally, I'm always looking for stories where you have been shamed or you have been indoctrinated and have shamed others intentionally or unintentionally. Please email submissions to latterdayshamed@gmail.com. that's down below too. I hope you're able to find Grace and hold space for yourself. Forgive your younger self. Forgive yourself as you are now. Be kind and compassionate to you and I will talk to you on the next episode of Latter-day Shamed Podcast. I'm James Hofheins Happily free from the Mormon church since November 2022! We lie for the Lord. We shame for the Lord. Random shame situations from my life.

Show Notes: This is the latterdayshamed podcast. Notice there's a "D" at the end of latterdayshamed because even though we know that institutional shame and person-to-person shaming are prolific in the modern Mormon Church, it has been going on since the beginning with Joseph Smith's fiery sword wielding angel compelling and shaming 14 year old girls (or girls a few months shy of their 15th birthday as the Mormon church's gaslighting explanation goes) into illegally marrying and having sex with him. Often behind Emma's back. Yet no one shamed him, at least not to the point where he stopped this creepy, and dare I say predatory behavior that I think is totally unbecoming of a so-called prophet. And it continued. We lie for the Lord. We shame for the Lord. The other reason I'm calling it latterdayshamed, with a "D" is because I hope I can add to the voices calling for the end of Mormon shame and help put shame in our collective past tense. If you tuned in and listen to this episode, thank you very much. I really appreciate it. If you find value in this content, may I ask you to please like and share and comment?
