Laundry and Other Mysteries

About Laundry and Other Mysteries

A pod where we discuss laundry and other true crime mysteries with a heavy emphasis on white collar crimes and sundry other scams (some that even include "stabby-stabby" stuff). I'll chat with my friends and subject matter experts whenever possible. Some of what you hear may be recorded in front of a live Clubhouse or YouTube audience.

Injustice Files on Clubhouse Featuring Interview with Kwame Shakur and Royal Amos

In this episode, we feature a Replay from the Clubhouse app in the True Crime Talks Club and the Injustice Files Room featuring the Laundry Diva discussing an interview done by Special Guest Kwame Shakur with his friend, Royal Amos, believed to be wrongfully convicted in the murder of his girlfriend and unborn child. What follows is the playing of the interview and then a discussion with Shakur about what he knows about the subject and his friend, Mr. Amos. Stick around for a discussion about laundry history: (http://www.ohea.on.ca/blog/the-brief-history-of-laundry) and some closing remarks. Apologies for the crummy audio as I discovered too late that my microphone would not work on my new device and had to make due accordingly. Hot Topic: Sexploitation and a Colorado Solution

Before we get started let me put up a couple of trigger warnings: There will be a frank discussion of sex trafficking and sexual abuse. There is also a layer of religious discussion because the topic involves a religious group home. With that being said, go get your cuppa! I‘ll wait right here. When you get back we’ll sit down with my friend Jacqui Staples who I had the pleasure of interviewing last year about her amazing passion project, Sarah’s Home, a Christ-centered sanctuary for girls who are rescued from sex trafficking. Who's Going To Put Away All This Laundry? with Dr. Lauren Penn

On a quiet Friday morning, two days after Christmas, I sat down in the conference room, in Miriam’s Place, to chat about laundry and community service with Dr. Lauren Penn of PinPoint Chiropractic in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The conversation morphed from a discussion of the biggest challenge she has to getting her laundry put away and her closets organized and how she was motivated to start a sack lunch program for the homeless in Colorado Springs to her business philosophy, entrepreneurship, and service and her amazing reading list. The entire interview is too long to share in one sitting, so I’ve broken it down into two episodes. The first episode will cover her challenges with laundry, her faith and inspiration for her community service. The second episode will cover her business, her philosophy on entrepreneurship, and the books she recommends to every entrepreneur.
