Rejected or Received

<p>This message takes us on a powerful journey through Scripture, revealing that Jesus' rejection wasn't a sudden surprise but a fulfillment of prophecy spanning hundreds of years. Beginning with Isaiah's words written 700 years before Christ and Zechariah's prophecy 500 years prior, we see God preparing His people for the coming Messiah. Yet despite centuries of warnings and promises, the religious leaders and many citizens chose rejection over reception. The central metaphor of the cornerstone becomes profoundly meaningful as we explore Psalm 118—the stone the builders rejected became the chief cornerstone. This isn't just ancient history; it's a mirror for our own lives. How often do we reject God's direction because it doesn't fit our plans or comfort zones? The message challenges us to examine whether we're building our lives on the solid foundation of Christ or discarding the very stone that holds everything together. When Peter recognized Jesus had the words of eternal life, when Matthew left his tax booth, when ordinary fishermen dropped their nets—they chose reception over rejection. The question echoes through time to us today: Will we be like the religious leaders who saw miracles yet remained unmoved, or like those who cried 'Hosanna' and built their lives on the Rock?
