Run Out Of Toilet Roll?! Fixing the Logistics Sector with Jonathan Morey of Red12 Recruitment
There’s no toilet rolls on the shelves again! There’s barely enough fuel to go around, if you’re lucky enough to find any at all!
But is this a problem that’s been in the post for the logistics sector for a long, long time?
Today we talk to Jon Morey, a specialist logistics recruiter and sector expert, about the challenges which face the industry he knows and loves:
Why this is a UK specific problem (before you consider IR35 and Brexit)?
Why is the candidate pool in logistics an ageing one?
Why aren’t younger workers attracted to the industry?
What can be done to turn things around?
Is it as simple as raising salaries - or is there something deeper in play?
Does a person-led approach lead to greater returns when it comes to your commercials?
Also in our conversation, you should listen out for a strong advocation for the oldest marketing strategy since time began, and why treating your candidates as human beings shouldn’t be the exception, but the rule.
This is a fascinating conversation, with a look behind the curtain at a situation which has affected all of us over the last few weeks and months.
