    Doing Great Work Won’t Get You Promoted

    Your work does not speak for itself. It never has. In this episode, I talk about one of the biggest career myths holding technology leaders back: the belief that if you keep your head down, do excellent work, and deliver results, the right people will automatically notice. That belief cost Sarah the CIO role. Sarah had the track record. She had delivered major system migrations on time, under budget, and without major incidents. But when the promotion decision was made, Marcus got the role — not because he was louder, but because he was more visible in the right rooms, with the right people, having the right conversations.
