A message from our series, "I Believe," where we carefully examine and unpack the Apostles' Creed. What does it mean? Why do we believe it?
At Legacy Church in Boulder, Colorado, Alex Rowan unpacks two phrases from the Apostles' Creed, "His only son" and "our Lord," showing how Scripture presents Jesus as uniquely God's Son and as Yahweh Himself. The message asks a searching question: if we say Jesus is Lord, is He actually the center of our lives, or have we settled for an unchanged life?
Key questions: What does it mean that Jesus is God's only Son? Why does "Lord" mean far more than "master"? Is Jesus really Lord over every part of my life?
Scripture: John 3:16–18; John 5:18–24; John 1:12, 14, 18; Acts 2:22–28; Romans 10:9–13; Luke 6:46; Matthew 28:19–20; 2 Corinthians 13:5; Colossians 1:13–14; Philippians 1:6; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20
In this message: Jesus as God's only Son, why this claim was radical for Jews and Romans, the Hebrew names Adonai and Yahweh, Jesus as Lord, believing versus living accordingly, self-examination, obeying Jesus' teachings, entering the kingdom of God, and surrendering every area of life.
This message continues Legacy Church's teaching series through the Apostles' Creed, moving through the section on Jesus after last week's look at "in Jesus Christ."

...And?!...
A message from our series, "I Believe," where we carefully examine and unpack the Apostles' Creed. What does it mean? Why do we believe it?
In this message from Legacy Church in Boulder, Colorado, we look at the creed's small but far-reaching word "and" and the phrase "Jesus Christ." How did devout Jews, committed to one God, come to worship Jesus as Lord and God? And what difference does that conviction make in our lives today?
Key questions: Why is there an "and" after "maker of heaven and earth"? What led the earliest disciples to conclude Jesus is God? If Jesus really is God, how should that change the way we live?
Scripture: John 20:24–29; John 1:35–39; 1 John 1; Hebrews 1:3–4; Colossians 1:15–17; John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 8
In this message: Thomas's confession "My Lord and my God," the deity of Jesus, Jewish monotheism and the early church, Jesus' authority, claims, and acceptance of worship, God becoming human, eternal life, restoration and redemption, honest doubt, and following Jesus as a lifelong journey.
This message is part of Legacy Church's series on the Apostles' Creed, following "I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth," with the next message turning to "His only Son, our Lord."

Bigger Than the Waves
In this message from Legacy Church in Boulder, Colorado, Brian Hays continues the Apostles' Creed series by unpacking the phrase "I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth." He explores what it means that God's power is unbounded and unrivaled, and that everything that exists—visible and invisible—was created by Him and finds its meaning only in relation to Him. He also addresses the tension between wanting certainty in our circumstances and choosing to trust a Father whose purposes can never be thwarted.
Key questions: What does it mean that God is "almighty," and how is that different from any power we witness in creation? If God made everything, what does that say about the goodness and worth of the physical world, our bodies, and our lives? Can we trust God's care for us even when we don't have certainty about how things will turn out?
Scripture: Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16; Job 42:2; Psalm 115:3; Jeremiah 32:27 (suggested reading: Psalm 8; Psalm 19)
In this message: the Apostles' Creed, God's almighty power, creation and its goodness, trusting God amid uncertainty, God as Father, meaning and purpose found in the Creator, resting in God's unshakable purposes, and surrender over control.
This is the third message in Legacy Church's teaching series through the Apostles' Creed, following earlier weeks on genuine belief and God as Father, and building toward the truths about Christ and the church still to come.
