We are three attorneys from New Jersey set on picking apart your favorite movies and TV shows. Hang out with us while we ruin the classics with a lawyer’s spin.
Hosted by Jenny, Liz and Diana.
Nikki wakes up next to three bodies with a gun in her hand. If a wish made her do it, is she guilty of murder?
We are three New Jersey attorneys putting Obsession (2026) on trial, and one of us refused to watch it, so she issue spots the whole thing cold. From whether making the wish is a crime on its own, to whether Nikki could consent to anything after it took hold, to Bear watching a murder and going home, the charges pile up fast.
Then we try to build Nikki a defense. The sleepwalking doctrine, insanity, hypnosis, involuntary intoxication. Every one of them means asking a jury to believe in a wish. We also come for the company that sold it and the hospital that turned her away.
Follow the show so you never miss a trial, and send this one to the friend who would absolutely snap the wish.

Practical Magic (1998): Can You Kill a Man Twice?
If a man gets back up after you kill him, did you kill him at all? We are three New Jersey attorneys, and two weeks after the sequel hit theaters we put Practical Magic (1998) on trial. From Gillian microdosing Jimmy with belladonna, to whether poisoning a man who is holding you at gunpoint can ever be self-defense, to a 40 hour drive from Arizona to Massachusetts with a body in the trunk, the Owens sisters rack up charges fast. We also get into a detective with no warrant and no jurisdiction who falls for his prime suspect, and whether the aunts' love potion business is consent by deception or plain consumer fraud.
Follow the show so you never miss a trial, and send this one to the friend who already has a ticket to the sequel.

A League of Their Own (1992): Charm School, Contracts, and Could Marla Hooch Sue?
A League of Their Own (1992) is one of the most beloved sports movies ever made, and almost every term of employment in it would collapse under modern law. We dig into whether Marla Hooch could sue for being judged on her face, why a mandatory charm school is sex discrimination, and the real contract rules Philip Wrigley imposed on the AAGPBL: lipstick at all times, no short haircuts, chaperones approving your living quarters and your dates, and heavy fines for drinking, smoking, or missing curfew. We also cover what the players were actually paid, whether Dottie breached her contract by walking out mid World Series, whether trading Kit without her consent was allowed, and the part the film only glances at, which is that Black women were barred from the league entirely.
