OCT 9 2026, WOND Radio Fitzherbert

FITZHERBERT FRIDAY  - 10-09-26 Electoral Urgency and Voter Turnout Brian Fitzherbert argues that voter turnout is the paramount issue, asserting that daily life outcomes stem directly from who holds political office. He contends that while Republicans are not the solution to every problem, Democrats are the primary cause of them, warning conservative voters against sitting out or splitting tickets. Grassroots engagement—door knocking, phone calls, texting, and peer-to-peer discussions—is highlighted as essential to driving voter participation. Energy Policy and the Cost of Living in New Jersey The hosts criticize long-standing Democratic control in New Jersey for escalating living costs and high gas prices. They point to state policies, such as the closure of power plants under Governor Phil Murphy—turning New Jersey into a net energy importer—as well as high state gas taxes and full-service gas pumping labor costs. Rep. Jeff Van Drew is praised for challenging electric companies over escalating utility rates. Brian argues that heavily subsidized renewables (wind and solar) cannot currently replace fossil fuels in a cost-effective, free-market manner. Critiques of Socialism and Progressive Governance A caller (Dan from Egg Harbor Township) and the hosts criticize progressive political candidates, citing Dr. Abdul El-Sayed as well as historical figures like Che Guevara. Dan references the perspective of Cuban immigrants to argue that socialism leads to economic ruin and that modern progressive policies edge closer to Marxism than social democracy. Brian notes that "you can vote your way into socialism, but you can't vote your way out," calling socialist policies fundamentally flawed. Immigration and Border Policy Brian links illegal immigration directly to rising costs across housing, rents, taxes, education, and healthcare. He defends deportation efforts and ICE operations as necessary economic and public safety measures to relieve strain on public resources. The segment concludes with criticism of opposition to the SAVE Act, with the hosts asserting that voting is a civic duty that must be strictly limited to verified U.S. citizens.

10.10.26 Seth Grossman Stockton, Ocean City Zoning

10.10.26 Seth Grossman Stockton, Ocean City Zoning. Stockton University Budget Crisis Stockton University faces an estimated $20–$25 million budget deficit. The host attributes this crisis to a 20-year borrowing boom that funded new facilities at the Galloway campus and a duplicative, largely vacant Atlantic City campus. Additional criticisms include ongoing operational costs for underused shuttle buses, declining student enrollment, rising tuition, and planned faculty layoffs under President Joe Bertolino. The host highlights protest footage published by Linda Cohen on BreakingAC (and shared via Liberty and Prosperity), advising parents and donors to reconsider supporting the university. Zoning Laws, Over-Regulation, and Housing The host argues that modern New Jersey zoning laws excessively restrict property use, create bureaucratic red tape, and drive up local costs. The caller, a 50-year Cape May motel owner, notes that room taxes, the Green Acres Act, and zoning have reduced room inventory and made local housing unaffordable. Both speakers criticize "affordable housing" mandates, asserting that subsidizing discounted units forces developers to inflate prices on remaining homes. Local Development Debates: Ocean City & Cape May In Ocean City, opposition arose against developer Eustace Mita's proposal to construct an Icona hotel at the former Wonderland Pier site. The host notes hypocrisy from residents like Beach Watch Condominium Association president Howie Atkinson, pointing out the condo building itself was previously a converted motel. The caller praises Mita’s development standards, arguing a similar project in Cape May would generate jobs and stimulate the local economy rather than harm existing operators. Electoral Integrity and Political Strategy The caller compares Craig Callaway’s legal situation to Soviet-style prosecution ("show me the man and I’ll find you the crime") and criticizes Republicans for failing to pass the SAVE Act to prevent non-citizen voting. The host pushes back on blaming congressional leadership alone, noting tight margins, moderate Republican dissent (e.g., Lisa Murkowski), and a lack of legislative follow-through during the Trump administration. While both praise Ron DeSantis's executive governance in Florida, the host emphasizes that unwinding decades of policy missteps requires sustained citizen engagement and hard work rather than waiting for quick fixes.

OCT 2, 2026 Brian Fitzherbert WOND Radio

OCT 2, 2026 Brian Fitzherbert WOND Radio College Sports and Gambling: The hosts discuss the shifting landscape of college athletics, expressing frustration that student athletes are treated and paid like professionals. They argue that universities participating in these commercialized sports should lose their tax-exempt status, while also criticizing state-promoted gambling, sin taxes, and the societal costs of subsidizing addictive behaviors. Political Accountability and Universal School Choice: The conversation shifts to politics and legislation, focusing on why policies like universal school choice often stall. They criticize legislative leadership for avoiding floor votes on key bills out of concern for their members' political survival, and they advocate for term limits for politicians, staff, and career bureaucrats. Civic Engagement and Technology: The speakers urge citizens to leverage AI tools to analyze local meeting minutes, track voting patterns, and see through political rhetoric. They also emphasize the need for elected officials to hold accessible forums—such as town halls and community barbecues—and express concern over low voter turnout in local and midterm elections. Defense Production and Industry Expansion: In closing, they discuss commercial industries—particularly automotive manufacturers—stepping in to produce defense-related parts and equipment, noting that these non-traditional suppliers are improving supply chain efficiency and reducing lead times compared to traditional aerospace and defense contractors.
