We all carry a debt we cannot pay. Sin has left us with an impossible debt, one that no amount of good works, money, or effort could ever erase. Yet the good news of the Gospel is that Jesus was moved with compassion and paid our debt in full through the cross.
Because we have been forgiven, Jesus calls us to forgive others. That can be difficult when the hurt is deep and the wounds are still fresh. Holding onto anger, resentment, and the desire for revenge can keep us trapped in the pain of yesterday. But forgiveness allows us to release that debt into God’s hands and find freedom from the past.
Forgiveness does not mean pretending the hurt never happened or returning to an unsafe relationship. It means choosing to let go because God has forgiven us. When we understand the mercy we have received from Jesus, we can begin to extend that same mercy to others.

What Forgiveness Really Does for You

When God’s Will Begins With You
We often pray for God to move in our world, but Jesus teaches us to pray for something much bigger: “May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” The Kingdom of God is not just something we look forward to one day. It is eternal, personal, and at work in our lives right now.
While we wait for the return of Jesus, we aren’t called to sit back and simply wait. God’s will begins with us. It begins in our hearts, our homes, our families, our churches, and the places where God has given us influence.
The coming Kingdom gives us hope for a day when sin, sickness, sorrow, and death will be gone forever. But until that day comes, we have a part to play. We can live for Jesus, encourage others, share our faith, serve faithfully, and use our influence to expand His Kingdom.
