81. Dare, Ditch and Dial: Rethinking the Way We Work with Cherie Mylordis
What does it really mean to lead when the world of work is changing so quickly?
In this episode of the Limitless Leaders Podcast, I’m joined by Cherie Mylordis, a leadership, innovation, and change expert who believes purpose, courage, and curiosity can shape better ways of working.
Cherie’s career has taken her from helping deliver the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games to founding nextgenify and nextgenify Academy. Along the way, she’s continued to explore what helps people and organisations do meaningful work, adapt to change, and achieve extraordinary outcomes.
Together, we explore what it means to lead with purpose and courage, why you don’t need a title to be a leader, and how curiosity, connection, and optimism can help us create more meaningful workplaces. Cherie also shares her Work in 3D approach, including how extraordinary organisations Dare, Ditch, and Dial.

Key Takeaways:
You don’t need a title to lead. Leadership is about how you show up. Intention, integrity, curiosity, and contribution can have an impact at any level.
Purpose needs to mean something. Purpose should guide decisions, priorities, and culture. When people connect their work to something meaningful, it can fuel motivation and engagement.
Be a conscious curator. Stay curious, notice what is happening around you, learn from others, and consciously choose what you want to take forward.
Dare, Ditch, and Dial. Cherie’s Work in 3D approach encourages leaders and organisations to dare to think boldly, ditch what is no longer serving them, and dial up the practices that help people and businesses thrive.
Connection matters. Creating genuine connection helps build trust, contribution, and a workplace where people feel valued for more than their title or job description.
Optimism can be practised. Gratitude, exercise, meaningful connections, and focusing on what you can influence can help you stay grounded and optimistic, particularly during challenging times.
Growth often happens outside your comfort zone. Cherie shares how saying yes to opportunities before she felt completely ready, including her role with the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, shaped both her career and her approach to leadership.
