Scripture Reference: Proverbs 13:20–25
In this sermon from the Hearts and Habits series, Pastor Taylor examines Proverbs 13:20–25 to outline three key outcomes that occur when believers intentionally choose godly influences over ungodly ones:
MP3
Growing in Godly Wisdom (v. 20): Who you surround yourself with directly determines who you will become. Associating with fools and ungodly influences leads to harm and bad decisions, whereas walking with wise believers—such as in local home groups—fosters growth in divine wisdom.
Gaining a Godly Legacy (vv. 21–23): The most significant inheritance a parent or grandparent can pass down is not money, but a lasting spiritual legacy pointing to Jesus. This legacy is built by modeling a righteous life, working hard to provide physically and spiritually, and demonstrating humility by admitting and apologizing for mistakes.
Growing in Godly Character (vv. 24–25): Loving correction and spiritual discipline in the home help train children to follow the right path rather than their natural sinful impulses. Beyond parenting, every believer needs accountable, godly relationships with peers who can sharpen their character and keep them spiritually on track.

Hearts & Habits Pt. 4
Scripture Reference: Proverbs 3:1–12
MP3
In this sermon from the Hearts and Habits series, Pastor Taylor examines Proverbs 3:1–12 to outline four essential habits that help believers build a deeper, trust-filled relationship with God:
A Habit of Remembering God's Word (vv. 1–4): Believers must go beyond intellectual knowledge of Scripture by embedding God's commandments into their hearts and applying them daily. Living out God's Word yields a full, satisfying life.
A Habit of Relying on God's Wisdom (vv. 5–8): Trusting the Lord requires abandoning self-reliance and rejecting worldly advice like "follow your heart". Because human hearts are deceitful, true wisdom begins with fearing God, recognizing personal limitations, and turning away from evil.
A Habit of Recognizing God's Wealth (vv. 9–10): God owns all resources, and believers are called to manage them faithfully as stewards. Honor God by giving cheerful "first fruits" off the top of a budget rather than giving leftovers.
A Habit of Receiving God's Warning (vv. 11–12): Spiritual conviction and divine discipline are signs of God's love, meant to guide and correct His children as a loving father does.
