Sacrifices of a Mother (Part 2): How to Rebuild When You've Lost Everything
Sister, what do you do when you've given up everything and you're standing in the rubble wondering where to even begin?
In Part 2 of this conversation, Nadine Dyer welcomes Lisa Murdock back to Linking Arms to talk about the practical side of sacrifice: how to rebuild. If you heard Part 1, you know Lisa's story of surrendering her dream of motherhood as she pictured it, for the sake of her three daughters. Now she walks us through what came after, one step at a time.
Lisa shares how she started by simply showing up, slipping into the back row of a dark church auditorium where she could listen without being seen. She talks about learning to hear God's voice for the first time, not through striving, but through humility and quiet. She opens up about getting comfortable being alone, feeding her soul with what she listened to, keeping a small and safe circle of women around her, and leaning into the pain instead of running from it.
Nadine and Lisa also talk honestly about surrendering the dreams we had for our lives, tuning out the voices that aren't God's, and holding on to a personal relationship with Him even when church and people fall short.
And Lisa leaves us with this: you can sacrifice a lot of things, but never sacrifice your worthiness. You are worthy, not because of your achievements, your home, or what others think of you, but because you are His.
Whatever you're rebuilding today, sister, nothing is too far gone. Our God redeems it all.

Key Takeaways:
Show up to healthy places. You don't have to participate or serve right away. Just find a safe place and show up.
Humble yourself. Lisa began truly hearing God when she let go of pride and humbled herself completely. Humility and surrender are where transformation happens.
Get comfortable being still. Resist the urge to fill every quiet moment. Healing happens in the space we make for God.
Watch what you're consuming. What you listen to, watch, and take in shapes your emotional, mental, and spiritual health.
Take one step at a time. Rebuilding is a journey, and falling down is part of it. Let go of past failures and keep moving forward.
Surrender your dreams. Lay down the life you pictured so God can grow you into who He created you to be.
Keep your circle small and safe. You need at least one person for the hug, the banter, and the vulnerable moments. That might be a friend, a counselor, or a free Purposeful Living coach.
Care for your mental health. Counseling and other tools are more accessible than ever, including virtual options.
Tune your dial to God's voice. Learn to recognize when you're hearing your own voice, society's, or someone else's, and turn back toward His peace.
Prioritize your relationship with Him. If you can't figure it all out, just love God. He'll do the rest.
Never sacrifice your worthiness. Your worth isn't earned. You are worthy because you are His.
