Welcome to Literary Just Told You! We’re Becks & Olive, two girls who love to yap about books.
Literary Just Told You is going to be the place for us to talk all things book… Our favourite tropes, our bookish red flags, things we love, things we hate and everything in between. We will also be hosting a monthly book club over on Fable so we can all read along together. We’re here to be your honorary book besties so please come along to listen to our new episodes every other Wednesday! We can’t wait to have you.
First Episode coming on the 27th August.
This month on Literary Just Told You, we’re heading to Barry’s Bay for Carley Fortune’s bestselling summer romance, Every Summer After.
From childhood friendship and first love to five years of heartbreak (and a whole lot of questionable communication), we’re unpacking everything this book had to offer. Did Percy and Sam’s romance live up to the hype? Was Barry’s Bay doing some of the romantic heavy lifting? And most importantly… did you see that reveal coming?
Becks and Olive discuss their favourite moments, biggest frustrations, the complicated role Charlie plays in this love story, and our final verdict on whether Every Summer After delivered the second-chance romance we were promised - or left us wishing Percy and Sam had just talked to each other.
Ps stay until the end to find out what book we are reading for September.

Episode 18: Sunrise on the Reaping: Goodbye to Panem?
This week on Literary Just Told You, Becks and Olive are heading back to Panem one last time (for now!) as they wrap up their Hunger Games series with Sunrise on the Reaping. After making our way through all five books, we’re looking back at the characters, stories and moments that made us love this world.
From Haymitch’s story and the backstories we’ve been given, to the characters we still desperately want to know more about, we’re asking whether there really are more Hunger Games stories worth telling. We’re also looking back at the series as a whole, debating which characters deserved more page time, which stories were better left untold, and what we think the Hunger Games has ultimately been about.
And, of course, if Suzanne Collins decided to take us back to Panem again… who would we want the next story to follow?
Join us for our final Hunger Games chat as we decide whether Sunrise on the Reaping was the perfect way to return to Panem - and whether we’re actually ready to say goodbye.

This month on Literary Just Told You, we're stepping onto the court for Edward Schmit's MM sports romance, The Open Era.
From the pressures of Grand Slam competition to the challenge of figuring out who you are under the spotlight, we're diving into everything this tennis romance had to serve. Did Austin and Diego's chemistry hit? Did the sports storyline keep us invested? And perhaps most importantly, were we ready to root for two fiercely competitive tennis players?
Becks and Olive discuss their highlights, the romance, the representation, and ultimately whether The Open Era is a winning match or if it falls short of the mark.
Ps stay until the end to find out what book we are reading next.
