Turning Our Children Over To The Lord
*Listen to the Show notes and podcast transcript with this multi-language player. Summary One of the most difficult lessons for a parent can be learning to truly place their children into the hands of the Lord. We naturally want to protect them, guide them, and help shape the direction of their lives. But there comes a time when we have to recognize that God is ultimately the One who is working within them. Parents will make mistakes. We may say things we wish we had not said or look back and wonder whether we handled certain situations correctly. Yet God is not limited by our mistakes. He sees the heart, and He is able to work in our children in ways that we never could. The conversation emphasizes that our responsibility is not to control the outcome of our children’s lives, but to love them, pray for them, and trust the Lord with them. There is a freedom that comes when a parent can say, “Lord, they are Yours.” Rather than holding tightly to our children out of fear or worry, we can release them to the Lord and trust that He knows exactly how to lead them. We may sow the seed and others may water it, but God is the One who gives the increase. Show Notes Trusting God With Our Children As parents, it is easy to feel responsible for how everything turns out in our children’s lives. But the discussion reminds us that God is the One doing the deepest work. Our part is to pray, believe, love, and trust Him. Parents Make Mistakes No parent has done everything perfectly. We have all said things we regret or made decisions we later questioned. Yet the Lord understands our hearts and is able to work beyond our failures and imperfections. The Danger of Trying to Control the Outcome When parents begin believing that they must make everything work according to their own understanding, they can easily move outside of the freedom God desires for both the parent and the child. Giving Our Children Freedom A powerful part of loving our children is recognizing when it is time to release them. We are given the privilege of helping direct them toward the Lord, but we were never intended to possess or control their lives. Love Them and Pray for Them Sometimes there is nothing more that we can do physically to change a situation. In those moments, our greatest ministry may simply be to love our children with all our hearts and continue praying for them. Looking for the Spiritual Answer We often look for a physical solution to situations involving those we love. But there are times when the answer is spiritual, and God may be asking us to step back and allow Him to work. God Gives the Increase We may sow seeds into the lives of our children, and others may help water those seeds, but only God can bring forth the increase. That realization takes the pressure off us and places our confidence back where it belongs—in Him. Quotes “God’s the one doing the work. All you can do is pray and believe.” “Don’t worry about your children. God’s got that in control.” “God looks on the heart and so do your children.” “What’s my greatest gift to my kids? Freedom. I turn you over to the Lord.” “Love them and pray for them.” “Turn them over to the Lord. They’re His.” “One sows the seed, another waters, but God is the one that gives the increase.” Scriptural References Malachi 4(6) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Malachi%204%3A6&version=NIV)— God turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers. Proverbs 22(6) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2022%3A6&version=KJV)— Training up a child in the way he should go. 1Corinthians 3(6-7) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%203%3A%206-7&version=NIV)— One plants, another waters, but God gives the increase. Hebrews 12(9-10) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%2012%3A9-10&version=NKJV)— Earthly fathers discipline their children for a time, while our heavenly Father works for our ultimate good. The conversation refers to this principle while discussing the temporary role parents have in directing their children. Takeaway Our children belong to the Lord. We have the privilege of loving them, teaching them, praying for them, and pointing them toward Him, but we were never meant to carry the responsibility of controlling the outcome of their lives. There comes a time when faith means opening our hands and saying, “Lord, I give them back to You.” That does not mean we stop caring. It means we stop allowing fear and worry to control us. We continue loving them. We continue praying for them. And we trust that the Lord is able to reach their hearts and accomplish what we never could. We sow. We water. But God gives the increase.

When an Experience Becomes Your Nature
*Listen to the Show notes and podcast transcript with this multi-language player. Summary God does not intend our encounters with Him to remain isolated spiritual experiences that eventually fade away. Each time the Father reveals Himself, makes His presence known, or touches our spirit, He is opening another step in a continuing way of life. Ron shares about a deep awareness of the Father’s presence (https://livebehindtheveil.com/captivate-podcast/entering-his-presence-living-as-true-worshipers/) that began before his trip to Israel and continued throughout the journey. He describes the difference between simply knowing that we are in God’s presence and consciously living with an awareness of His presence. Rather than looking back and saying, “That was a wonderful experience,” we are called to contend for what God has given us and refuse to return to the place we were before. The Family explains that an experience with God becomes a deposit within our spirit. As we continue walking in it, that deposit is woven into our lives until it becomes part of our nature. The experience may appear to have an ending, but the work God began through it continues. Christ is not trying to make us outwardly religious or unnaturally spiritual. He is incorporating His life and nature into us in a way that becomes genuine and natural. We remain the unique people God created us to be, yet Christ increasingly expresses Himself through our words, choices, relationships, and everyday lives. This is a place of Kingdom rest. We cease striving to produce spirituality through our own effort and allow Christ to become our spirituality. Whether we feel something strongly or feel nothing at all, we trust that God is establishing His life within us. Experiences become stepping stones that lead us forward into the nature and life of Christ.Show Notes The difference between being in God’s presence and being aware of His presence Why encounters with God should become a continuing way of life Refusing to allow spiritual experiences to fade into memories Every experience with God leaves a deposit within our spirit How God’s nature becomes woven into our everyday lives Christ coming forth naturally rather than through religious behavior Remaining who God created us to be while expressing Christ Entering Kingdom rest and ceasing from our own spiritual effort Trusting God even when we do not feel anything spiritually Using past experiences as stepping stones instead of destinations Christ Himself becoming our wisdom, spirituality, and confidence Trusting the Father to direct our path Key Quotes “There’s a difference between just being in His presence and being aware of His presence.” “That is not an experience. That’s another step that the Father has opened up for me to walk in continually.” “If you touch God, or He touches you, that’s a step that we need to put a pin in the ground and say, ‘I’m not going back from here.’” “The experience has a beginning, and then it becomes a deposit in your spirit.” “Pretty soon, it’s woven into our lives.” “God is incorporating Himself into us in such a way that everything must become natural.” “We are still us, and yet it’s Christ in us at the same time.” “Christ is our spirituality.” “The experiences become our stepping stones.” “Go where the Lord leads you and let God be an expression through you.” Scriptural References Colossians 1 (27) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Colossians%201%3A27&version=NIV) — Christ in You “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” God’s purpose is not merely to give us outward experiences but to reveal and establish the life of Christ within us. Galatians 2 (20) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians%202%3A20&version=NIV) — Christ Living Through Us “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” We remain the individuals God created, yet Christ increasingly becomes the source and expression of our lives. 2 Corinthians 3 (18) (https://www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/2%20Corinthians%203%3A18) — Transformation Into His Image As we behold the Lord, we are progressively transformed into His image. What begins as an encounter with Him becomes an inward change of nature. Hebrews 4 (9–11) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%204%3A9-11&version=NIV) — Entering God’s Rest Kingdom rest comes as we cease from our own works and trust God to accomplish His purposes within and through us. 1 Corinthians 2 (16) (https://www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/1%20Corinthians%202%3A16) — The Mind of Christ “We have the mind of Christ.” His thoughts, trust, and relationship with the Father are being formed within His people. Proverbs 3 (5–6) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%203%3A5-6&version=NIV) — Trusting the Lord “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” As we acknowledge Him, He directs our lives and establishes His nature within us. Psalm 139 (14) (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%20139%3A14&version=NIV) — Wonderfully Made Each person has been carefully and uniquely created by God. His nature does not erase our individuality; it fulfills His purpose through it. Philippians 2 (13) (https://www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Philippians%202%3A13) — God Working Within Us “It is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” The spiritual life is not something we manufacture through human effort.Takeaway Do not allow what God has revealed to you to become merely a memory of something that happened in the past. Receive every encounter with Him as a deposit and another step into a continuing way of life. You do not have to recreate an experience or struggle to appear spiritual. Rest in the Father, trust what He is establishing within you, and allow Christ to express His nature naturally through the person He created you to be. What began as an experience can become part of your nature as you continue walking forward with Him.
