About Living Life with a Seed of Faith
The podcast formerly known as "Living Life with a Seed of Faith" has been renamed to "Mama needs cafecito and Jesus" following the birth of the my first child; I am in a new season where I am encountering new challenges. My daughter has inspired me to be better every day and so this podcast's focus has shifted to sharing life lessons, scripture, faith, connecting with other mothers, and sharing personal experiences and testimonies. Still, planting a seed of faith and pointing others to Christ. I named the podcast this because after a long night of hardly any sleep, I need coffee and Jesus!

Is Comparison Stealing Your Joy?
Comparison makes us compete for a position, but Jesus calls us to surrender our position and serve others with humility, grace, and love. In today's episode I share some of my personal struggles, an example of someone I love serving me and the greatest example we have of humility and serving one another, Jesus our Lord and Savior washing the disciples feet. I encourage you to read the passage in the bible: Mark 9:33-37 The Disciples Argue about who would be the greatest John 13 - Jesus washes the disciples feet Thank you for listening, if you're encouraged by this message please share with a friend. Peace and blessings. K

Do you have phony faith?
Today's episode is based on Matthew 7:24-27. I share my personal journey of rebuilding my faith on a true and unshakable foundation, that is in the Rock, the Lord Jesus Christ. After going through my own crisis of faith during brokenness and confusion, and isolation. During some time I learned the true meaning of being a follower and believer of God. One who built the faith on a solid foundation verses a weak one. Other scriptures referenced in today's episode: John 14:24 Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. The word that you hear is not My own, but it is from the Father who sent Me. Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

What Really Matters
Do you ever feel like Martha but want to be more like Mary? Check out this lesson the Lord is teaching me in a new season of life, while I try to juggle my day to day life. Scripture I read today is from Luke 10:38-42.

The Cost of Following Jesus
Do you ever feel like sometimes you can do more for the Lord, and that you can really serve Him, but something is just standing in your way? Well, I’m here to read the scripture to you that stood out to me and essentially what I learned is that we need to stop making excuses to follow Jesus, and to be His true disciples. (Luke 9:57-62) The only person standing in the way is really ourselves. Rather, you cannot commit to Jesus halfway. Committing to the Lord, definitely take sacrifice. I believe we got to stop making excuses and saying “not now, Lord”.

Word of the year ~ Forgiveness
In this New Year’s episode, I reflect on how God often teaches me through one defining word each year—2025 was a year all about forgiveness. I share my personal journey of learning why forgiveness isn’t always easy, why it doesn’t depend on whether others apologize or deserve it, and how it ultimately sets me free. Drawing from Scripture and my own experiences, I encourage listeners to let go of resentment, bitterness, and past hurts as we step into 2026 with clean hearts. This episode is a reminder that forgiveness is a powerful act of obedience, healing, and spiritual freedom.

The Great Escape
This has been one of the hardest episodes for me to record. I have a special guest joining me for support, my wonderful husband, Jake! This is my story on where I came to know God and how despite it being place that caused me pain and how it didn't always teach God's truth. God still used that to save me. This episode was improvised, and I tried to edit it as much as I could. But more importantly I included the verses that we mentioned since we didn't reference them fully. John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. James 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Matthew 7:21-23 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Romans 16:17-18 17 I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. 18 For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites,[f]and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. Matthew 7:15 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves . Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Genesis 50:19-20 19 But Joseph said to them, “Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? 20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people[b] should be kept alive, as they are today. Thank you for listening, and please share with a friend!

Peace in the Waiting
In today's episode, I share a part of my story I haven't shared before. It’s the first time I open up about my mom’s deportation and how it changed all of us forever. We were set to wait and hope that both my parents could come back one day. In a season of waiting, I came to know the Lord, I came to grow so much as a person and also I know I would not be here if my parents hadn’t decided to leave everything they knew behind and follow the American dream. I’m grateful for their sacrifice but that decision also came with tragedy and suffering. God’s love and faithfulness is the only thing that has kept us. I am still hopeful that things can change. I also share how to have peace during times of waiting which I learned as years went on. I did not always have peace but God is good and He’s given me peace after other life lessons.

Let Your Faith Be Greater Than Your Fears
A few years ago I identified myself as a timid and overly anxious person. I was also constantly filled with fear. But I learned to overcome my fear of the unknown through faith, which enabled me to travel alone for the first time. During a stressful airport trip, Gods gentle reminder to "be still" helps me trust that things will work out. Now, I am new to motherhood, and the Lord still uses this moment to remind me of how to overcome new fears.

When God Says No
Serving the Lord with our gifts and talents can be a beautiful thing. It can become dangerous though, when our motives or reasons behind serving no longer align with God’s will. Or when we are too focused on ourselves and being recognized instead of pointing others to Christ. If you find yourself stuck or feel like the Lord has closed a door, it may be a good time to re-evaluate the reason behind serving. Are you serving yourself , or are you serving others whole-heartedly? I will be sharing a bit about my personal experience with these questions in mind.

Planting a Seed of Faith
Today's episode we learn about the importance of planting a seed and how the Lord calls us to share the Good News. I discuss three ways of planting a seed of faith and include a word of encouragement if you are sharing and don't see results right away (regarding others being saved). Thanks for listening and please share with a friend! Scriptures used today: - Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. -Mark 16:15 Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone - Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. - John 14: 6 “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' - Acts 16:30- 33 Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. -Romans 10: 9 Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Titus 3:5 also states - He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 3:6-9 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. Jeremiah 17: 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

My Testimony
Tune in to get to know more about Karen and her journey before turning her life to God and how her life has been impacted since she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Scriptures mentioned today: Proverbs 3:5-6 -Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Ps. We apologize for the sound, we realized that Alyssa's voice was difficult to hear, but as much as we tried we could not fix it.

A Homeless Heart
In today's episode I share about a time that I wandered aimlessly to find a love and a home for my heart. After many trials, I finally understood that the missing puzzle piece in my heart was always The Lord Jesus Christ. A void that no one or anything else could fill. Thank you for listening to my testimony! Scriptures mentioned today: 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT - This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! Psalm 143:8 NLT - Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. 1 John 4:16 ESV- So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides love abides in God, and God abides in him. Numbers 6:24-27 NLT - May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace. Scriptures not mentioned but connected to my testimony: Zechariah 1:3 NIV - Therefore tell the people: this is what the Lord Almighty says: "Return to me" declares the Lord Almighty, "and I will return to you" says the Lord Almighty. John 15: 1-5 NIV - “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing... Read more of God's word at www.biblegateway.com

Hold Onto Your Faith
Join me on a very difficult time of my life, and how my faith helped me through it. Scriptures mentioned today: * 1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. * Hebrews 11:1 Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. * Mark 5:25-34 25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. 26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. 27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. 30 Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?” 31 His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’” 32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. 34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.” * Philippians 4:6-7 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Read more of Gods word on : www.biblegateway.com *I also mentioned the word mantle which could also be robe.

Don't Do Life Alone
In today's episode we will be talking about the importance of not doing life alone. We will be sharing the value that we found in having each other as our faith continued to grow in Christ. We also recall times where we had bad friendships and what the Word says about them. Jesus is our greatest friend! He has always been there for us and He always will be. Peace and Blessings, Karen and Alyssa. Scriptures mentioned today: Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! John 15:12-14 12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. When Jesus Calms a Storm
Thanks for tuning in for our very first episode! Today we will be talking about a significant storm that Jesus calmed when He was with the disciples. Though they feared, Jesus calmed the raging sea and asked them why they lacked faith. We have encountered this too and we will be discussing how Jesus has calmed storms in our lives personally. Please stay tuned, it is so worth it! God bless you always. Karen and Alyssa Scriptures mentioned today: *Mark 4:36-41 36 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” 41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” *Luke 8:22-25 22 One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set out, 23 and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. 24 And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?
