Lo Que Ale No Dijo is a bilingual podcast by Alexandra Larco: a Peruvian immigrant, mother, dancer, and school counselor rooted in lived experience, cultural memory, and healing.
This space explores identity, womanhood, silence, and the truths we carry in our bodies. Through personal storytelling and community voices, we reclaim our power, set boundaries, and give language to what once felt unspeakable.

Lo que Ale no dijo is back.
Episode 4: Boundaries
It has been almost seven months since the last episode. In this return, I open up about what happened in that space of silence, the changes I went through, and the ways life kept moving while I was figuring myself out.
This episode is not a lesson. It is not a conclusion. It is a journal entry. A real time moment of coming back to my voice, my thoughts, and my truth.
I talk about boundaries, motherhood, healing, identity, and what it means to step away and return without needing to have everything figured out.
If you are still here, thank you for holding this space with me.

EP 3: SERTRALINE
In this episode, I open up about what it really means to face your own mind. Not as a counselor, not as a mother, not as a dancer but as a human being learning to listen to her body and her limits.
I talk about starting Sertraline, the fears that came with it, and the decision to finally take ownership of my healing. This isn’t a conversation about labels or diagnosis. It’s about reclaiming your power, understanding the chemistry of your emotions, and giving yourself permission to rest without guilt.
If you’ve ever felt like you have to stay strong while everything inside you feels empty — this one’s for you.
Take what you need.

EP 1: MENTAL HEALTH
Lo Que Ale No Dijo : Season 2
Episode 1: Mental Health
This episode opens a new chapter. Season 2 begins with honesty and softness: a reminder that even those who help others sometimes struggle to help themselves. I speak about burnout and the moments when being alive feels heavy.
This season is different. It is not just about breaking silence it’s about tending to what happens after we speak. About care, nervous system awareness, rest, and building safety.
If you’ve ever felt like you had to hold it all together for everyone else, this one’s for you.
Take care of yourself, be kind to others, and remember :you are not alone ;

EP 10: The Child I Still Carry
Reaching ten episodes is more than a number. It’s a milestone of consistency, of showing up week after week for truth, for survivors, and for the community that grows with every story told.
In this episode, I reflect on what it means to carry the child I once was, to stand as the adult I needed back then, and to continue the work of breaking silence. This week also brought a reminder of why advocacy cannot wait the resilience of someone who escaped violence and is beginning again.
Episode 10 is about memory, safety, and healing as collective acts. It’s about turning pain into presence, silence into seeds, and remembering that advocacy is never just personal it is for all of us.

EP 9: Why We Cannot Look Away
This episode was born out of exhaustion, anger, and love. My name has now been added to Not Just Chisme, placed alongside stories that reveal what the Latin dance community doesn’t want to face. I speak as a survivor and as a mother, as someone who has carried silence long enough.
Advocacy, for me, is no longer an idea :it is a practice. It lives in the choices we make every day, in the voices we choose to believe, and in the truths we refuse to bury. There is so much to do, and as César Vallejo (Peruvian Poet) reminds us, we cannot do it alone.

EP 8: The Silence That Hurts Us All
This week I open up about the kind of pain that stays with survivors for years: the silence carried since childhood, the systems that protect abusers, and the hurt of watching communities act like nothing happened.
I reflect on the Epstein survivors, my own journey of protecting my peace, and the ways I’m choosing healing through boundaries, all-female dance teams, and the men I do trust: including my partner and my two boys who I'm raising to grow into men who can be trusted.
This episode is a reminder: survivors are not alone. Even when the world tries to bury us, we rise like seeds breaking through the ground toward the light

EP 7: When Silence Feels Like Betrayal
In this episode of Lo Que Ale No Dijo, I reflect on what it means to be left unheard as a survivor, as a mother, and as a member of a community living through fear and grief.
From being ignored by organizers in the dance world, to the trauma of immigration raids in sanctuary cities, to the heartbreaking loss of children in yet another school shooting, I ask: how much silence will we allow before change truly happens?
This episode is also my living diary a legacy for my children, my students, and for anyone who needs to hear that your voice matters, even when the world chooses not to listen.

E6: Respect is The First Step.
This week I reflect on how respect is not just a word we repeat in dance spaces it’s the foundation that shapes safety, boundaries, and dignity. Drawing from the voices of Fernando Salas and Gabriela Equiz, I talk about how objectification and power dynamics are normalized, and why we must build healthier structures for our community.
I also share a personal moment when I had to listen to my own body’s reaction to a promotion in our scene, and how documenting that discomfort became a way of reclaiming agency.
Respect begins in the choices we make in what we normalize, in who we give a platform to, and in how we respond when someone says, this doesn’t feel safe for me.

EP 5: El Respeto Debe Ser El Primer Paso.

EP 4: Stories Are Not Chisme.
In this episode, I reflect on the emotional weight of silence, the complexity of community responses, and the difference between storytelling and defamation. I share why I’ve chosen to speak to platforms like Not Just Chisme, and how recording this podcast has helped me process my own healing not to harm anyone, but to protect those who haven’t been warned.
This is not an exposé. It’s not drama.
It’s documentation. It’s truth. It’s what many of us have been too afraid to say out loud.
I speak from my lived experience as a dancer, counselor, and survivor. I speak for those who have stayed quiet out of fear, and for those still searching for the words.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you're the only one who noticed something was wrong this episode is for you.
Trigger warning: This episode discusses abuse, gaslighting, and emotional manipulation in community settings, including the Latin dance world.

EP 3: Por Que Sigo Bailando Por Ella.

EP 3: Why I Still Dance for Her.
On this special episode, released on Peruvian Independence Day, Alexandra returns to her roots not just as a dancer, but as a girl who once lit up on stage, barefoot and full of pride. After more than a decade away from Peruvian folklore, she reconnects with the rhythms that still live in her body: the joy of Carnavales, the fire of Caporales, and the memory of a little girl dancing in a Valicha skirt beside her grandmother.
This is not a story of pain. It's a story of remembering. Of home. Of healing through movement.
For anyone who has felt far from who they used to be, this episode is a love letter to your inner child, your culture, and the parts of you that never truly left.
This one is for her. The little girl who danced before she knew what healing meant.

EP 2: When It's Not Just One Story
In this episode, I reflect on multiple survivor stories shared with me from the Latin dance scene. We talk about grooming, coercion, trauma bonding, and institutional betrayal. I also share an anonymous testimony of rape and explain why this podcast exists: to hold space, not shame. Stories are shared with consent, and details are modified to protect privacy.
Trigger warning: this episode discusses sexual violence, alcohol, and emotional harm.

What I Never Said About Silence
In the very first episode of Lo Que Ale No Dijo, Alexandra Larco introduces the heart of this bilingual podcast. As a Peruvian immigrant, mother, dancer, and school counselor in Los Angeles, she shares the truths she once silenced: the stories stored in our bodies, the discomfort we were taught to hide, and the cultural patterns often left unspoken in dance and performance spaces.
Alexandra reflects on her own experience as a student and amateur dancer, navigating verbal abuse, machismo, and power imbalances, while reclaiming her voice as an adult woman and immigrant artist. She also includes the protected testimony of a former student whose story echoes these dynamics, reminding us that silence holds weight until it is spoken.
This episode sets the tone for the series: it is not gossip, not therapy, but truth told with clarity, intention, and deep care for collective healing.
