Their position in removing retained counsel is one of the most serious judicial interventions possible. Here's why appellate courts worry, or have concern about this. Council of choice issues matter a lot because once a chosen lawyer is removed, that constitutional choice cannot be restored later, even excellent substitute counsel does not erase loss of original legal choice.
