This podcast looks at various pieces of literature throughout history. Not only, looking at literature to understand what love entails; it also looks into psychology, philosophy, films, art, and many more fields. Through this diverse scope, it aims to find various definitions and interpretations of love.

Dr. Lisa Van Hove is a postdoctoral researcher at BRUCC, Department of Clinical Psychology, Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She completed her PhD in 2025 on self-harm in older adults. Her research centers on self-harm (non-suicidal self-injury and suicidality) across the lifespan. Lisa also works as a research assistant for the International Consortium on Self-injury in educational settings.
In today's episode, we will speak about self-harm in relation to love and what it means. This topic relates closely to mental health issues and demands awareness and more focus.

In today's episode, your host (Melinda Karaca) will speak Namrata B. Kanchan.
Namrata B. Kanchan is a International Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Comparative literature and the Congut Institute for Humanities at Brown University. She holds a doctoral degree from the Department of Asian Studies at the Universty of Texas at Austin, which she completed in 2023. Her research and academic work focus on South Asian studies, comparitive literature, and premodern Islamicate worlds, including topics like royal women's spaces illustrated in manuscripts. She has also been recognized for her contributions, such as winning the Historians of Islamic Art Association's Margaret Sevcenko Best Paper Prize in 2023.
In today's episode, she will talk about love literature in the Indian Sub-continent with a special emphasis on Sanskrit literature.

In today's episode, your host (Melinda Karaca) will speak with Frans-Willem Korsten.
Frans-Willem Korsten is an Emeritus Professor of Literature, Culture and Law at the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society. He has held various academic positions at Leiden University and Erasmus University of Rotterdam, and has published several books, including Art as an Interface of Law and Justice. His research explores how art and literature can challenge established ideas about authority and help us think differently about justice.
However, in this episode, we will exploring justice in the context of love. In fact, it turns out that love is connected to the law, to notions of justice and equality more than, we think.
