Rotary Club of Palatine Oktoberfest — Meet the Community

We were out Friday to grab some footage before Oktoberfest kicked off! We're here at Oktoberfest, hosted by the Rotary Club of Palatine, talking with the Rotary member who helps run it, the pastor who blessed the keg, a neighbor who's been coming every year, and a local business owner serving up food on the street. Fingers crossed the rain stays away; they're here through today, September 20th. Go check them out; it's a great event! #StrongerTogether #CommonGround #Oktoberfest #Beer #LoveLocalChicagoland #RotaryClubOfPalatine #RotaryEvent

Less Time on Tasks, More Time for Purpose with Raj, The Mindful AI Guy

This episode is about healing, taking care of yourself, and creating enough space to discover the purpose that may be buried underneath the noise. Jason sits down with Rajneesh “Raj” Sehgal, known throughout the community as The Mindful AI Guy. Raj shares his journey from growing up in Mumbai, India, with a scarcity mindset to building a successful 20-year career in corporate America. Although he achieved the financial security he had worked toward, Raj discovered that success and money had not healed the struggles he carried within him. He opens up about loss, emptiness, isolation, depression, unhealthy coping habits, and the realization that something in his life needed to change. Community became an important part of Raj’s turning point. Through human connection, movement, running, mindfulness, and meditation, he began caring for his mind, body, intellect, and soul. His story reminds us that healing rarely happens overnight. It begins by showing up consistently, giving ourselves grace, taking care of ourselves, and allowing other people to walk beside us. As Raj began healing, he also started hearing the deeper voice calling him toward his purpose: spreading joy, helping others, and sharing what he had learned. That journey now shapes the way Raj approaches artificial intelligence. As The Mindful AI Guy, he helps local businesses understand AI, overcome their fear of it, protect their information, and identify repetitive tasks that technology can help manage. His message is simple: Less time on tasks. More time for purpose. In this conversation, Jason and Raj discuss: • Growing up with scarcity and redefining success • Experiencing loss, depression, and emotional emptiness • How community helped Raj begin moving forward • Caring for your mind, body, intellect, and soul • Why consistency is more important than intensity • The connection between mindfulness, movement, and healing • Finding purpose underneath the distractions of life • Leading with curiosity, empathy, and grace • Why small businesses cannot afford to ignore AI • How businesses can begin using AI without becoming overwhelmed • Using technology to reclaim time for people, purpose, and community • Why Raj believes AI can help us become better human beings To learn more about Raj, his workshops, and how he supports local businesses, visit: https://www.mindfulaiguy.com/ (https://www.mindfulaiguy.com/) Love Local Chicagoland exists to amplify local voices and connect neighbors to build stronger communities.
