Pastors are frequently "ON." On a stage, on a mission, on to serve others, and "on" giving their best to help others grow closer to God and His plan for their lives.
But Pastors are people too - they need (and often crave) friendships with each other and with safe people who understand ministry life and leadership. ALIVE Music Festival Owner/CEO Ken Ferguson is a tremendous example and encourager to the pastors and high-capacity leaders in his region of the Midwest.
Ken and Susan have been in church ministry and worship leading for many years, but these past four years have placed them "backstage" as they lead an enormous Christian Music Festival in Northeast Ohio. God is moving powerfully, relationally, and personally through Ken and his ministry to involve and encourage pastors around the country. It's awesome to welcome Ken to today's conversation about how to see Pastors and ministry leaders as actual human beings who deserve and desire real community with one another.

Christmas 2025 is here! Today’s episode welcomes a check-in with Pastor Knute Larson as he’s recovering from the flu and reflecting on pastoring at Christmas. Our host Gary Underwood opens up about losing his family’s dog the week before Christmas and being in need of Jesus and the Good News Christmas brings.
Knute talks about keeping Christ and His Mission at the center of a church Christmas and how Jesus’ nearness, understanding, love, and hope is what we need most in life. These pastors also reflect on Christmas church services and some takes on making those meaningful to people.
