I remember being a student in sixth grade and a new teacher introduces me Gullican folk were on pearly suit. I will remember this until the day I die. And everything she clicked on, I was like, oh, that lady sounded like my aunt. That lady sounded like my aunt. And they was like, what are you talking about? That lady sounded just like my aunt. You want me to go get my aunt in here? Because saying words, I understand it. But then it also took me back to when I was in about first grade and Buck McTutcher correcting my dialect now as a mom my nine-year-old I remember she's in first grade and they're like she needs speech and this and that and I said hold on her first language very first was Gullah Geechee her second language is English.
