Een gezellig en leefbare ruimte: Pjeroo Roobjee, Walter De Buck en Karel Waeri- Rebellie
In deze aflevering maken we kennis met rebelse literaire stemmen uit de jaren ’60. Walter De Buck vertolkte de opstandige liedjes van Karel Waeri uit de negentiende eeuw en werd zo zelf een rebels cultfiguur. Pjeroo Roobjee schopte als experimenteel schrijver, kunstenaar en performer tegen heel wat heilige huisjes van de ‘provinciestad’ Gent. Lieselot De Taeye en Lars Bernaerts nemen je in deze laatste aflevering op sleeptouw doorheen deze rebelse tijden. De Vlaamse beweging omarmde middeleeuwse rebelse figuren als Artevelde, Reinaert de Vos en de Maagd van Gent als deel van het stedelijke en nationale zelfbeeld. Veerle Uyttersprot en Jorn Hubo leggen uit hoe de literatuur een belangrijke rol in dit proces speelde. <p>In deze aflevering maken we kennis met satirische tijdschriften uit Gent. Het tijdschrift brengt maatschappijkritiek dicht bij de mensen. De censuur lag op de loer, zeker in het revolutietijdvak en de woelige jaren ’60. Het weerhield de Gentse tijdschriftenmakers er niet van om scherpe opinies de wereld in te sturen.
