E22: Kid Rock

Drew is the world’s biggest Kid Rock fan and he derailed this episode, which was supposed to be about Kid Rock’s alternative Super Bowl performance and his crazy workout video with RFK, by talking about how much Kid Rock’s early work, culminating in his Woodstock ’99 performance, kicks ass. We also talk about how the right wing’s love of AI slop videos is indicative of their larger worldview and other stuff too. Yuri had such a good time recording this episode that he made a video game that’s like Temple Run but you’re RFK in a pool and you’re trying to get glasses of milk.

Macho Pod is hosted by Yannick LeJacq, drew millard, and Yuri Rybak. E21: Mankeeping (Feat. Emilie Friedlander)

Is mankeeping a real thing? Is it just a thing that the internet made up as a way to prolong the “male loneliness crisis” discourse? Is it something that Emilie Friedlander did to Drew and Yannick to convince them to start Macho Pod? We recorded this episode over Christmas break but it feels like we recorded it 15 years ago, also I should probably tell you that mankeeping is basically what you call it when your boyfriend only has one friend and it’s you. We spend the end of this episode talking about something completely different that was relevant at the time. E20: Scott Adams (R.I.P.)

Scott Adams was not the most extreme person we’ve covered on this podcast, but he was an important figure in the Macho Pod Extended Universe by being almost a bridge figure between the old manosphere and the new. The Dilbert guy was into “first principles”-style tech brain thinking, “just asking questions”-style racism, defending Our Boys Who Are Under Attack, taking ivermectin instead of real medicine, over-earnest sentimentalism in the style of Jordan Peterson, and hypnotism for sexual purposes. We talked about his life and legacy, and also read excerpts from his batshit crazy blog. However weird you think he was, we promise you he was weirder than that.

Macho Pod is hosted by Yannick LeJacq, drew millard, and Yuri Rybak.
