Goodbye for Now (But Not Goodbye Forever)

After an incredible run of the Mad Rush podcast, Trisha Addicks is pressing pause—for now. In this heartfelt episode, Trisha shares an update with the Mad Rush community and explains why she’s stepping away from the podcast while she focuses on an exciting new chapter: the upcoming release of her highly anticipated book, The Rush Bible. For years, Mad Rush has been a space where Trisha pulled back the curtain on sorority recruitment, college transitions, and the powerful connections that shape young women’s lives. Through candid conversations with guests from inside and outside the Greek world, the show explored everything from identity and confidence to mentorship, friendship, and finding the right community. In this special episode, Trisha reflects on some of her favorite moments from the podcast, and, most of all, she shares her gratitude for the incredible community that formed around it—the listeners, parents, students, mentors, and families who made the Mad Rush journey so meaningful. While the podcast is pausing, this is far from the end. Trisha is now turning her full attention to The Rush Bible, a comprehensive guide to navigating sorority recruitment and the college transition with confidence. She’ll be traveling for book events, signings, and appearances—and she hopes to meet many of you in person and hear your rush stories along the way. Mad Rush may be taking a break, but the mission continues. Stay connected, stay confident, and keep building meaningful connections. Brotherhood of the Sisterhood: Libby Shayo on Greek Life, Camp Connections & Content Creation

On this episode of Mad Rush, Trisha interviews creator and consultant Libby Amber Shayo (New York University at Buffalo, BFA in acting). Libby shares how she leveraged camp friendships, Facebook groups, and the Accepted Students Weekend to network and meet people in Greek life before committing to college, including hosting a first-night dorm meetup with dozens of girls. She describes joining a sorority during spring recruitment because of credit requirements, choosing a different chapter than her close roommate, and how not having a car helped her build connections across pledge classes through rides and one-on-one time with older sisters. Libby introduces her concept of the “brotherhood of the sisterhood,” explaining how fraternity friendships became a lasting support system—showing up to her theater performances, forming informal “family” ties, and traveling to major life events like her formal 300-person wedding (including a taco station and sombreros). She also recounts her career pivot during COVID after interviews in talent management/casting were canceled, going viral on TikTok with Jewish-mom comedy, running brand and Jewish organization accounts, launching the Schmuck Boys podcast about Jewish dating and identity, and later working in agencies on major snack and wellness brands before going full-time as a creator. Libby explains her event content creation business model—capturing phone-shot footage and delivering b-roll plus an edited reel quickly (often within 24 hours), choreographing TikTok trends at events, and applying the same approach to her own short, five-month engagement wedding planning and related content. The episode closes with where to find her online (LibbyAmberShay) and Trisha’s notes on confidence, connection-building, and pre-ordering her upcoming book, The Rush Bible. 📌 Connect with Libby 📸  @libbyambershayo 🌐 beacons.ai/libbyambershayo/mediakit *** Pre-order your copy of  THE RUSH BIBLE *** https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Rush-Bible/Trisha-Addicks/9781668217085 📸 Trisha on Instagram: https://instagram.com/@rushwithconfidence 🌐 Trisha's company at: https://itsallgreektome.org Have questions or comments? Building a Personal Brand for Sorority Rush and Beyond with Campaign Crafters Media

   - Sam Underhill, Partner at Campaign Crafters Media, “Sam” - Michael Korvyakov, Partner at CCM, “Michael” - Ella White, Head of Outreach @ CCM, “Ella” Trisha welcomes college entrepreneurs Ella, Sam, and Michael from Campaign Crafters Media to discuss why a unified social media presence matters—especially for PNMs navigating sorority rush and anyone building a personal brand. Ella shares her University of Alabama rush experience during the highly publicized 2022 “Bama Rush” year: receiving her second-choice bid, trying it briefly, declining, then later joining her first-choice sorority through COB after a year and a half of making friends outside Greek life. The guests explain how they met and pivoted from political campaign work to helping private clients after political work dried up, with Sam describing experiences that pushed him toward entrepreneurship. They unpack what networking events are like in Washington, DC, why in-person connections can outperform cold DMs, and how confidence often matters more than appearances. Campaign Crafters outlines their social media management approach for personal brands—researching a niche, creating a content calendar, and using five high-performing content formats (face-to-camera videos, B-roll text videos, carousel posts, comparison videos, and skits) centered on retention. The conversation also covers why hashtags matter less now due to platform AI, why SEO keywords and clear storytelling are important, and how sorority recruitment teams review applicants’ social media and broader activities. 📌 Connect with Campaign Crafters Media 📸  @campaigncraftersmedia 🌐 campaigncraftersmedia.com *** Pre-order your copy of  THE RUSH BIBLE *** https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Rush-Bible/Trisha-Addicks/9781668217085 📸 Trisha on Instagram: https://instagram.com/@rushwithconfidence 🌐 Trisha's company at: https://itsallgreektome.org Have questions or comments?
