[…] He was a town mouse and was dressed in fine clothes. Hello, cousin, said the town mouse when he got nearer. You look very busy. Must you carry all of this food to your house? Yes, said the country mouse, if I'm to have anything to live on during the winter months. It's hard work, but I live happily. The town mouse told his cousin that she would be better off living in the town, like he did. There is no place better, he said, but the country mouse said that there was no place better to live than in the woods and fields. They decided to settle their argument by agreeing to visit each other's houses over winter, so that they could see once and for all who had the better life. […]
