Magick in the Mundane

About Magick in the Mundane

MAGICK || MUNDANE Traverses the nuanced avenues of interconnection between all things. We use time-tested laws of nature, the observable rhythms & cycles of our embodied everyday experience, and the signposts & markers of archetypal wisdom born from esoteric systems such as the iChing, Astrology & Human Design to find our way. Specifically, to find our own unique way. The intent of this podcast is to create coherence between the technical & intuitive, heart & mind, and the Magick in the Mundane to inspire integrated insight that orients you to the legitimacy of your human experience.

INTO THE GOLDMINE > In this episode, Alyssa sits down with somatic and trauma facilitator Molly Strong to explore what happens when we stop trying to fix our coping mechanisms and start getting curious about their intelligence instead. Together they trace how over-functioning, food, and hunger can become portals into unprocessed fear and eroticism, and how "control" is often really about managing overwhelming the fear of life-force rather than the thing we think we're controlling. Molly shares the inner workings of Sapiens, the sober psychedelic container she facilitates, along with the NARM-informed practice of holding a terrified younger part of yourself while still staying rooted in present-moment reality. The conversation lands on capacity, witnessing & permission for Molly's favorite concept, "the do-over", which reminders us that the mundane isn't about getting it right, but about staying present enough to know you can't actually get it wrong. This is how we connect with the MAGICK. HOW TO FIND MOLLY > Offerings: The Overfunctioning Fast in August. A month-long collective pause for overfunctioners to explore the roots of the pattern together and Herself in September. POWER-OVER IS DEAD: Jupiter in Leo, Inner Authority & Plutonian Collective Rebirth

This episode is a collection of transits converging in mid-to-late July are all pointing at the same question: Are you your own authority? Or, are you still outsourcing it like you've been conditioned to? The episode traces this through a personal story when an disturbing acoustic awareness landed with me on the dance floor on July 4th. Pluto in Aquarius opposite Jupiter in Leo is the focus on this episode Jupiter entered Leo on June 29 and is now magnifying the Leo archetype — not the pop-culture "main character" version, but Leo as inner authority and creative self-actualization. It's opposing Pluto in Aquarius, the sign of the collective body, which is in the early years of a 20-year transit through that sign. The opposition goes exact July 20, staying within orb roughly through early August. Read as: individual authority (Leo) vs. collective fragmentation/oppression dynamics (Aquarius) — an outward-facing polarity, since oppositions push internal work into social/relational expression. New Moon in Cancer, July 14 is conjunct Mercury retrograde, conjunct the North Node, square Saturn Falls in Gate 62 , a throat-center gate about the trap of over-identifying with thought and language, as Richard Rudd says, "it is not we who abuse language, but language who abuses us". This is framed as an invitation to let decision-making move from mind to body as to not make decisions from conditioned constructs. We touch the moment of clarity that arrives with Mercury cazimi on July 12, the Pluto trine Uranus in Gemini) on July 17 and briefly touch on Venus conjunct the South Node, in Gate 59 of sexuality, in the last moments of the current nodal axis. Gate 59 carries a shadow of dishonesty — read as a call to stop being dishonest with yourself as a prerequisite for reclaiming inner authority. Forward pointer: North Node in Pisces (Gate 55) / South Node in Virgo (Gate 59) as a preview of the 2027–future nodal theme — moving from victim consciousness (Gate 55 shadow) into freedom, tied to the Hawkins map of consciousness (fear/grief/apathy/guilt/shame vs. courage as the bridge to empowerment). That was Alyssa and Liati. Within minutes of introductions, the conversation had already landed on BDSM and embodied dance. Of course it had. Now, sitting at Alyssa's dining room table on a Saturday morning — caffeinated, still a little starlit from a 2am meteor shower, surrounded by plants — they bring that same energy to the mic. This episode is an invitation into the world of Sensually Embodied Dance: a movement practice rooted in the S Factor lineage, where the lights are red, the mirrors are gone, and the only choreography is whatever your body actually wants to say. But it's also something larger. It's about the radical act of slowing down enough to feel. About the difference between moving to look good and moving from truth. About the years of buildup — swallowed nos, performed sweetness, desire hidden even from yourself — that have nowhere to go until you give your body a room to finally say it. Liati walks us through what it looks like to arrive in this practice: the mental chatter of the beginner, the rote loops of the almost-advanced, and eventually — slowly, over months — the experience of pure presence, where the dance happens and you barely remember what you did because you were so completely in it. They talk about lust. Not as a sexual category but as a flavor — that stirring, covetous, I-want-this-so-badly-I-haven't-admitted-it-yet energy that lives in the body long before the mind finds language for it. About the 10 erotic icons of S Factor — innocence, bliss, joyful, lustful, champion, deep soul, ice queen, shy reluctant, dangerous challenger, naughty provocateur — and how the so-called "dark" ones are often exactly where the liberation is hiding. They thread it through Human Design. Through deconditioning. Through the intelligence of the sensing body as compass. Through the understanding that sensuality is to sexuality as God is to religion — the container, not the content. And underneath all of it: you cannot decorate or dress up truth. This one's for anyone who has ever performed being in their body instead of actually being there. Which, if we're honest, is all of us. Unbuckle for this one. JOIN ME for the opening of the ONLINE COMMUNITY (https://www.alyssatroob.com/community) + 4-week kickoff coursework: TURN ON (https://alyssatroob.mykajabi.com/offers/9zLazhyZ )~ we begin July 16th.
