Our sustainability focused discussion continues with groundbreaking designers Gerome Sta Maria and Maco Custodio. They shared their creative journey in designing shoe collections using upcycled materials. The collections for men and women's footwear bedazzled us after finding out that these creations were once trash.
Award-winning shoe designer Gerome Sta. Maria (https://www.instagram.com/gerome_stamaria/) created the "Diwata" collection which uses recovered marine plastic litter with Pure Ocean's ReMaker Space (https://www.pureoceans.co/remaker-space).
Maco Custodio (https://www.facebook.com/macocustodio.ph/) is a seasoned fashion designer who is behind the "Lalapatos" collection, men's footwear made with upcycled tin foil wrappers.
