I was scrolling through Facebook and found out a colleague passed away. Mid-50s. Gone. And then I watched post after post pour in, beautiful words about who he was, what he meant to people, the impact he had. Genuine love from people who clearly cared. And I kept thinking, did he know that? While he was here, while he was alive, while he was carrying whatever he was carrying...did anyone actually tell him?On this episode of Man Listen, we talk about the words we withhold. The appreciation we assume people already feel. The calls we keep meaning to make but never do. And the mental health cost for the people who never hear it.We are so good at showing up for the funeral. We are terrible at showing up on a random Tuesday. The call we need to make, today.

They Don't Like You — Stop Holding the Doors Open
Think of your life as a train. Your life is the train — and it has stops. Some people get on at stop five and get off at fifteen. Some ride with you for decades. Some are meant to ride the whole journey. And none of that is wrong, not everyone is supposed to stay forever. But here's the question that matters: Is your train stuck at the station? Are you holding the doors open for people who already decided they're not getting on?On this episode of Man Listen, we talk about the signs that someone isn't really for you. No response is a response, the seasonal person, forcing square pegs into round holes, and the thing Black men struggle with most: walking away from people we've been loyal to long past the point where that loyalty was returned.Your train has somewhere to be. Stop holding the doors open.

"I'm Tired, Boss" — The Real Reason Why You're So Exhausted
You may have never heard the term. But you have felt it every single day.Racial battle fatigue, the cumulative mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion that comes from being Black in America. Not from one big dramatic incident. From the accumulation. The daily math. The split-second calculations. The microaggressions multiplied by a lifetime. And then there's the gaslighting. Being told the weight doesn't exist. That you're oversensitive. That things are better now. That you should be grateful. On this episode of Man Listen, Mark shares a personal story, names what's really happening, backs it up with research, and talks honestly about what this relentless exhaustion does to the Black male mind... and what we do to protect it.You are not crazy. You are not oversensitive. You are tired. And being tired after a lifetime of this is the most reasonable response in the world.
