[…] And what I don't want to see happen is that with a lot of the sort of anti-government rhetoric. What I don't want to see happen is that it deters people from going and committing, excellent people, from committing their lives to public service. I mean, I just look at the celebration, the gala that the National Academy had a few months ago, James Christian. I mean, we were looking, I mean, it was incredible to hear the stories of public servants and how their work had really been transformative. I think that's one of the things that we're going to have to lead the way on, quite frankly, as schools of public affairs and our public affairs associations, standing up for the excellence in public affairs and public affairs education and administration, making sure that folks understand the critical nature of the excellent work that we do doesn't mean that it's perfect, but we also can't make perfect be the enemy of good.
