Many Notable Things is a podcast for deep thinkers who enjoy reflective takes on history, society and culture. Through a sociological lens, host Kadine Ferguson explores notable themes, events, and experiences (past and present) that shape how we understand the world and ourselves. Whether it's women at the Olympics or the quiet politics of everyday life, each episode invites you to listen, reflect, and rethink what matters.
In this episode, we explore how everyday conflicts reproduce the past, and how acts of resistance challenge us to rewrite the story of who we ar e now.

Paris 2024: Women at the Olympics
With the 2024 Summer Olympics around the corner, I wanted to share a brief history about the Games. Of particular note, this Games will be the first time an equal amount of women and men have the opportunity to compete as athletes. It also marks 124 years since women were first allowed to participate at the Olympic Games and at the very same location in Paris. What a fantastic milestone for the International Olympic Committee! It has certainly come a long way since its founding by one Baron Pierre de Coubertin in 1894.
