In a time where one can choose to live anywhere, how does one choose and what meaning do they give to where they live in the story of their life?
In this limited audio series I aim to explore guests' personal histories of place, how they relate to the places they live, how they merge with or diverge from these places, and their beliefs about identity & belonging as it relates to deciding where to live.
Thank you for riding shotgun with me through this audio storytelling project. In this final episode, I share the making of Map My Route, themes I've observed, and answer my own questions about place. See you at the next rest stop.

02. You've Arrived - Amanda
My first guest is my younger sister Amanda. While that may seem like a boring first guest, I did not unexpectedly meet Amanda through shared interests or by accident as I have with future guests. It makes sense to have a shared life outlook with chosen friends whereas, with a sibling, we shared a bedroom and still see the world and place in both similar & different ways. Thank you for listening!

01. For Now
There is a unique route to be mapped for this audio series. In the weeks before releasing this first episode of this series, I was preparing for a 6 week sabbatical visiting friends around the United States. I will be spending time in at least 7 different states and reconnecting with friends from my own personal history, many who I haven’t seen in several years. Along the way I’ll be sitting down with some of them to document their relationship to place. I’m also returning to all three locations I shared about in the first episode: Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Detroit, and Washington state. I’ll be popping in throughout the series to share themes and thoughts around this project that have stood out to me during my travels. By air, by train, by bus and car, I’ll be reflecting observations how, more often than we realize, we are all in the carpool lane of personal discovery.
