Created as part of the AHRC-funded research project 'Local Theatres: Participation, Inclusion, Imagination', this podcast series brings together conversations with local theatre-makers, artists, and cultural leaders to highlight the city's theatre landscape. Across the series, guests reflect on local theatre's strengths and challenges, opportunities for participation, and the support artists, organisations, and communities need. Topics include access, creative spaces, collaboration, funding, professional development and the future of theatre in Sunderland. Together, these conversations offer a snapshot of a diverse and evolving theatre community, celebrating the people who make it happen and highlighting what is needed to help local theatre thrive.
