Only Believe: Faith Tested and Triumphant (Luke 8:40-56) | June 7, 2026 Morning Service
Only Believe: Faith Tested and Triumphant (Luke 8:40-56) | June 7, 2026 Morning Service
In this message from Luke 8:40-56, Pastor Taylor Brednehoff explores the account of Jairus and his dying daughter, and the woman healed after 12 years of suffering. Both come to Jesus with tentative, imperfect faith — and both discover that it is not the strength of our faith that saves, but the strength of the One in whom we place it.
Key themes: • Jesus welcomes even small, fearful faith • How trials and testing strengthen (not break) our trust in God • Facing death with hope through Christ's power over the grave • "Only believe" — Jesus' call to trust Him fully, even in desperate circumstances

Sermon: Where Is Your Faith? — Jesus Calms the Storm (Luke 8:22-25)
Sermon: Where Is Your Faith? — Jesus Calms the Storm (Luke 8:22-25)
Creation is broken, and storms — whether on the sea or in our lives — remind us of the curse humanity brought upon the world. In this message, we trace the theme of God's covenant with creation from Adam's fall to Noah's flood, and see how Jesus Christ, both fully God and fully man, brings ultimate healing to a groaning creation by commanding the wind and waves to be still.
Drawing on Romans 8:18-25 and Luke 8:22-25, this sermon explores the brokenness of a fallen world, the true identity of Jesus as the new Adam and New Covenant mediator, and the godly, faith-filled serenity we're called to have even in the face of life's fiercest storms.
Scripture Readings: Romans 8:18-25 Luke 8:22-25
