On Drunkenness is an obscure lost text mentioned by the ancient historian Pliny. Modern scholars debate what it may have contained, although a common view holds that it was a treatise written by Antony to reframe allegations of debauched drinking as part of a religious connection with the god Dionysus and to attack his rival Octavian.
Octavian responds to On Drunkenness, while Mark Antony holds a lavish banquet in Greece with Cleopatra and many of his client kings. Proceedings are interrupted by the arrival of a messenger with a challenge Antony and his commanders. Back in Rome, after being stuck in a house together for weeks, Aurelia goes out to see a friend of her mother's and learn more about their history, uncovering a family secret in the process.

I. On Drunkenness
Mark Antony enjoys a drink and a bath with his closest friends as word comes in about a missing general and a raid on a sacred temple. Two of Antony’s loyal soldiers stand guard outside his Patrae villa. Back in Rome, sisters Lucia and Aurelia hear word that Octavian has declared war on Cleopatra.
