“Our Town” – A Love Letter to Fleetwood in Clay
Adrian sat down with ceramic artist Michael Cassidy and workshop participants Sue Anderson and Diane Davis to talk about their experience creating work for This Town, the new community‑led exhibition at the Studios Art Gallery in Fleetwood Market.
For Our Town, Michael worked closely with Fleetwood residents to capture the textures, spaces and stories that define the town. From the ridges of the dunes to the brickwork of old shopfronts, each piece carries a fragment of lived experience.
His workshops encouraged participants to look again at the everyday places they pass through — the corners they love, the streets they grew up on, the landscapes that feel like home — and translate those impressions directly into ceramic stoneware.

Sounds, Stories and Places
Adrian Pritchard talks to Sound artist Rob Mullender -Ross and Fleetwood artist Omani Hanmer about the sound media workshops conducted at the studios on behalf of the "Pride & Place Project" funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Dr Rob Mullender is fascinated with sound, and its ability to mediate and make meaning within multiple contexts. He works with sound within its broadest definitions (not ‘just’ as music); a sensory, active, social medium, revealing different ways of engaging with people and place.
These workshops engaged participants in building a sense of place through sound recording, listening, narrative and composition and weaving them into stories, impressions, histories, textures etc; creating works which build a sense ofplace through sound.
